Got to agree with you there, and the unfortunate fact is that there seems to be a hell of a lot of socially inadequate a holes in this job, which results in a negative attitude towards us from the public, I have met hundereds of them on ferries, cafes, pubs and drivers wait rooms over the years and made my excuses, as I can’t be arsed with narrow minded BS. That could sound snobbish but it isn’t, it comes from a lad from a council estate upbringing. As for this thread I just don’t get why somebody would admit, to the point of boasting, that they actually hate a whole group of people, how can you generalise as much as that, everybody is an individual, if somebody came on and said they hate all truck drivers, that puts me in the same category as the d.heads I mentioned previously, so they have made a judgement on me based on dealings with said d.heads, so how is that fair? As for Luke’s points I see where he is coming from, and he still gets stick for defending himself . Another thing is I aimed a question at the OP about how he would react if any of his kids told him they were gay but it seems he chose not to respond.

I went over the top yes I admit that, but I still stand by my thoughts and by looking at the above I would say it was pretty much 50>50 on homosexualality it’s just I went a little deeper then most I admit. I am still saying its sick and wrong but hey each to there own. There’s no need for the sarky attitude I admitted I went a little too far but in my defence he did whind me up no end by twisting my words. I should of just left him at it like Harry did

Sorry I missed that bit. How would I react? Well while not approving would have to accept it as long as it wasn’t planned for them to have a church wedding, that’s what I disapprove of more than being gay.

How would you accept your children if they wanted to tell you they were gay?
I have seen what happens to a family who are all quite good friends, and the results were somewhat astounding.

That is a fair and good question, I wouldn’t and couldn’t agree with it I think we would grow apart if I was honest. It’s kind of like the story in Eastenders when Syied came out with it to his parents and then they didn’t want to be seen with him. It is hard when some people are so far against it to then accept it. I think I would blame myself for not doing more man like things with him etc and most likely break down with disgust etc etc there’s my honest answer

Some friends had a son who came out when he was 15. How he knew then I am not sure. His brother (18) had just joined the RAF, he would have nothing to do with him, but both parents accepted it. 6 years on the oldest has done a couple of tours in Afghanistan, the youngest is living at his mums with his boyfriend, and the husband has buggered off to live on his own.
It is a strange ending as the parents were so close, they were the ones who asked for tolerance. On the other hand the two brothers are out and about a lot, friends as well as siblings.
That is a sad story, but yes I do think most mums accept it as it seems easier for women too. I think fathers or brothers find it a hell of alot harder

Read what others have said above, I’m not the only one. It’s wrong and in my blood to accept just like it is many others. As wheel nut said above his mates father was the same he left his family
