Someone ripped my mirror cover off this morning and just drove off. First thing I did was dial the office and try to give them the reg number and company name
Straight away he accused ME of been too close and went off on one.
I tried staying calm but he just got worse and then said speak to him later in his office with the door shut. I just put the phone down.
Fuming cause as my tm shouldn’t he be defending me for something that’s not my fault?

Livid!
Of course it was your fault, if you were not there, it wouldn’t have happened.
Who was in charge of the vehicle? Well of course it’s your fault then…
Seriously though, your previous incident has nothing to do with it, you were stationary and got a load of ■■■■ off the TM? I wouldn’t even honour the moron with the deatils of the other vehicle now. I would make the company pay for it because they emply such a cretin and let everyone know!
I think the first incident has something to do with it, you hit one, then someone hit you, so he thinks your lying, and trying to cover it up…let it go over your head…but let us know what he says…good luck.

I know what you mean. But maybe your tm was having a stressful day, not uncommon for a tm, and spoke out of hand cos of stress. Wait 24hrs i bet he’ll be cool.
pavaroti:
But maybe your tm was having a stressful day,
Absolutely no excuse whatsoever.
If he was having a stressful day, then he shouldn’t take it out on someone who has reprted a non fault incident. In fact I would go as far to say the TM is in the wrong job if he goes off on one like that.
Anyone who can’t stop themselves from bawling someone else out because they are having a bad day,a. Shouldn’t be in a job with any form of authority and b. Deserves a smack in the mouth!
I worked the doors of nightclubs for many, many years, but when I went to work, any problems at home stopped there. He sounds a complete ■■■■■■■!
Don’t start me on TM’s/ Bosses taking someone else’s side. I had it 3 times last year. Some prick rings in cos’ I couldn’t let them join A30 from a slip road Cos’ I had a transporter alongside.
Then some other fool rings in to say I’d overtaken them too fast…On a dual carriageway !
And some taxi driver accused me of threatening him (Which may be true )
But every time the boss accused me of the wrongs. Ignore it. It’ll pass.

6months ago I damaged a mirror on another truck. This time I was stationary. Hence the reason I’m fuming
If you’re working for a firm that can’t cope with a driver breaking two mirrors in six months, of which one is not your fault, you’re working for the wrong firm mate. Stuff happens; they’re made of glass FFS.
Your TM should have listened to what you had to say and then taken it up with the owners of the offending vehicle to find out what there driver had to say regarding the incident.
Had some pillock smash my o/s mirror last week whilst I was on the taillift, he didn’t stop, he came back the other way 10 minutes later and despite lots of arm waving he carried on his merry way, minus a cap. £300 notes for fitter and a 2 hour wait. TM okay about it, but I did have to report it to plod as a hit and run, NIP on it’s way.
BTW, One DAF LF blind spot mirror cap for sale, £300 ono.
In the mid-90’s, I was sitting in pole position at a set of temporary traffic lights when this ■■■■■ wagon coming towards me in the single-lane contraflow thing (dug ditch coned off on one side of road) when he decides instead of swerving around back into his lane, he’d just plough straight into the front of me at around 10mph… (Scrap wagon full of metal) My windscreen was cracked, but not broken outright, and there’s now a dent in the front panelling.
He calmly backs off, pulls around me (rips up the side, removing wing mirror, & scratching side body) and drives off…
My passenger is pi$$ing himself laughing, and I’m just gobsmacked for a mo, but we got this gits number OK, and duly reported it as a “hit and run” collision.
The police traced them OK, went around their pikeyard, asked them if it was their deed, which of course being ■■■■■■ they denied, and the police dropped it!
If I hadn’t had a passenger of some rank to back me up, I might have got a blameworth for that, even though I was stationary at the time of impact, and on the correct side of the road.
I’m all in favour of those camera thingies that point out the front of the windscreen taking a constant streaming image downloaded to a remote location. I’ve only seen them on DHL/Yodel motors so far, but I guess with the advent of skyrocketing insurance, more hauliers will get them fitted as standard in due course.

And then what really winds me up is they then apologise on your behalf
thelorryist:
he even called me a “professional driver” lol
Did you remind him the correct phrase is so-called professional?
Thankyou.
of course i did. i wont be called something without evidence lol…
found out this morning from some of the other drivers that when they have been hit and called in that he did the same to them…
