the lad was parked in the industrial estate in goldthorpe, inbetween barnsley and doncaster, a well known fuel theft hot spot for years.
the police used to put signs up saying that but the thieves take them down so drivers not from the area dont know it is a hot spot.
nowhere is safe now but south yorkshire/north notts is a big hot spot for the fuel siphoners and has been for years but in the last 3-4 years it has really got bad.
So if it’s a well known crime ‘hot spot’ why tf is it not a regular and routine port of call for the Police■■?
Better things to do with their famous ‘‘limited resources’’ no doubt. :
they do drive round ocassionaly but never at the right time to catch them, they too busy trying to deal with the young ones setting fire to everything

They tend to be too busy dealing with the many car crashes that happen on the DV Parkway road. I use the route as a way to get between the A1 at Marr and the A61 at Tankersley to get to the Woodhead pass, as it cuts out the A1/M18/M1 section. The only downside is the multitude of roundabouts that criss cross the road.
However several times I’ve reached the roundabouts around Wath/Goldthorpe and ended up doubling back due to the road closures and numerous low bridges. Fortunately the last time it happened (a 5 car prang) the copper who I stopped and spoke to had some hgv experience and was able to give me some directions, unfortunately this was during rush hour on a Friday afternoon when you were hoping for an early finish and it adds 30-50mind to your day
It’s cheaper to have your fuel stolen once or twice a month than paying for parking, it’s a regular occurrence at the place I work…
MSA’s don’t seem to be “secure” either. The other issues is finding secure parking that allows fridges to be run overnight. Reefers allowed if you turn the fridge off after 21:00? Really wtf use is that? I’m sure the Pharma company won’t mind the temp dropping out of range for 8 hours while I go to sleep.
I think having the fuel tanks on the near side is a bad idea. At least it they are on the driver’s side they will be in full view of any passing traffic rather than hidden away behind the trailer. I have a tank on both sides of my unit, the driver’s side one has never been touched so at least I was able to fill up in morning when it has happened to me. I do tend to park close to a fuel source nowadays in case it happens again
We’ve had many tanks drilled even though the caps are not even locked
I don’t worry about it anymore, if they want it, they can have it, I’m not going to try and stop them. I’ve started leaving the iPad playing random YouTube vids or Pornhub all night with the curtains slightly open so it looks like i could be awake watching stuff, has worked so far!

Out of curiosity I looked up this “Trucker Tim”
I have to ask myself, am I the only one who thinks that when he speaks his voice sounds like trying to talk while he’s on the vinegar stroke
“Vinegar stroke” You just hear that any more these days.
I’d never seen any of this Trucker Tim before (I just don’t understand the appeal of watching Blogging videos), but after your comment I had to have a look. Two minutes of him was enough for me, far too excitable about being at work.
