Fuel Theft System

So what exactly is complicated in adding blue dye to HGV fuel ? Try and find a complicated answer to a simple problem why not.

As soon as the fuel is dyed it is less nickable / desirable, just like good old red, sure people steal red but they risk everything if caught using it.

I thought someone already tried dye in fuel. They have…

Fuel Theft Solutions - Preventing internal fuel Theft, comparing Blue Diesel Dyes with Anti Syphoning …

PerryDay:
Regarding the camera, the Trucksecure has 4 inputs for extra security devices plus a clean contact relay which you can wire your camera into. So if the system activates the camera will switch on.

So then you have video footage of some diddycoys stealing your diesel. I can’t imagine what help that would be to be honest.

I guess so you can tell if it was Patrick, Mickey or Joey :unamused:

I can see it live when activated and decide on action.
Option two is wake up poorer. There is a lot of hard earned in them tanks, will do what i can to burn it myself.

Stops the [zb] water running out the [zb] sink.

After reading the title, I expected a drill in pipe with a pump built in that hooks up to an anderson lead.

I think, after reading a few posts, it’s actually a fuel ANTI theft system he’s after?

For a fuel theft system, just look in the back of most transit pick ups in an evening / dusk

Lol , thanks for clearing that one up, I didn’t think it was scum

I work for ENAiKOON and we make anti-fuel theft systems for trucks, vehicles, equipment and anything else with a fuel tank. Our system works both when the engine is off and monitors the tank in real-time. Hook up an alarm and a CCTV camera while being sent a text message that will give you a good chance of scaring off or catching the thief. More info at stop-fuel-theft.net

Fitted one of these, aint fool proof but a good deterant and i hope enough to get them to move on.
Thought about making my own using level sensors but this plan has problems.
It would for instance need take into account fuel slop.Plan 2 was to use pir but again there problems, passing vehicles, air lines flapping in th wind ect.
Plan 3 was magnetic field but then the above system came on the market.
I am connecting it to a cammera so i can record on activation.

If you’re parked up in a layby, the fuel slop from wind against the side of the trailer should be minimmal. In a tank say, 50cm in depth, the slop might be 4-5cm but you set the dectetor to read 10cm+ which would mean you’d have to park on level ground, up no kerbs, and then not get blown around too much by either the wind or passing traffic. :sunglasses:

To account for fuel slop would be extremely straightforward. Electronically, it could be done by taking an average over time. Hydraulically, it can be done by incorporating a flow restriction between two containers - effectively the same principle as a baffle, but incorporated into a simple self-contained device within the tank, as opposed to requiring the whole tank to be baffled.
