Fuel Tax

When I saw this post I initially thought fuel tax was dead. :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s not. :frowning:

Is Roger King working for the government or just very naive ? The suggestion that the haulage industry should be taxed separately from the ordinary motorist will cause any public sympathy for any plight of any haulier to simply vanish.

How can they justify two tax raises on it in 6months, when it’s at £1.10 a litre, it’s just ridiculous, when it hits £2.50 a litre in 3 or 4 years how is anything gonna get delivered anywhere. Funny how Biodiesel tax is only a couple of pence less than DERV tax too isn’t it, despite being renewable and cleaner to burn. And then there’s LPG tax, when it was first taking off around '00 the conversion cost well over 1.5-2grand! With the return promise of cheap LPG due to gargantuan reserves and it being cleaner burning, in 2003 LPG was about 34p a litre, it’s now getting on for 60p a litre! :imp:
