The government needs to understand the state this industry is in…its no good listening to the jerks hes surrounded with that the immigrants are good for this country…we all know they are lowering the standards, they live cheaply than us, and theyre so desperate for a job, that many work for less than the minimum wage…
the foreign trucks on our roads, have been given a free rein in the work they are allowed to do, and of course they can compete a lot lower than our home grown hauliers can. for their fuel tanks are brimming with cheap diesel, and often up to 1200 litres…they pay no road tax, no high vehicle tax, and their insurance is a lot lower than ours. the haulage rates are quite lucrative to them, but are crippling our own industry…if there was a way for everyone to increase their rates, without fear o0f losing the work, the government would ■■■■ themselves, for we know the mere mention of the word inflation sends them into their cave, but thats what is at the heart of this country…it controls what we spend, and therefore controls what the government has to spend, so if no cash is forth coming, it also has to put the brakes on, like we have to tighten our own belts, and hauliers are at a distinct disadvantage…they are afraid to move, are afraid to act…merely because they cant…so show the protesters your support, join in if you can, and dont lets give up the fight…lets increase it.on a more regular basis…

I don’t think the protest will do very much at all as it is far too orderly.
The government don’t seem to listen. therefore overthrowing this government and hanging the following for treason would be the answer.

we should all strike bring it all to a stop,transport has been pushed around for to long,we are treated like dairy cattle who keep on producing the milk but someone else gets the cream,its the same in europe.but we have one problem and thats the selfish attitude most drivers and bosses have,me me me is all you get,now look at us,our industry is collapsing,cheap drivers from east europe,high diesel prices,there will be no jobs soon.yet if you say anything you are put down by no other than your own colleagues.and no doubt if a strike did happen a company with its roots in carlisle and has shiny green trucks would steal the work ,then claim to have saved the nation.we will just carry on being ripped off,stiff upper lip and all that crap.if everyone from all industries stuck together and stopped work for 24hours the government might get the message,we dont have to put up with a government till it finishes its time in office,get them out now before its to late while we still have jobs and a few quid in our pockets because when we are skint they have got us…
I would be on more if I could find someone to drive my rig for a week,money no object,but seems to me a great many drivers today would be better seeking an alternative occupation.

don’t forget north sea oil should belong to the taxpayer.
therefore she started all this as far as i’m concerned.

When Margaret Thatcher was in power Britain still had an industry, they also made money even after she privatised them. As BD said that was in 1992 but even the Conservatives left the country with some reserves which the Labour government have squandered and borrowed more and more.
But at least it is not our fault because no one voted the Labour government back in did they? or at least they will not admit to it

Stop bickering and start thinking thats the problem with this country we complain complain complain and nothing gets done except another company or O/D goes to the wall
We need to put our heads together and come up with good ideas to help the good folks out there that are struggling…We maybe working class but we’re not daft. So put the handbags away and lets get cracking…One idea to probably throw a hand grenade into the topic…alternative fuels such as LNG??
