Thunk thunk. Are those arrows dipped in poison much?
Higher they go the better, less peeps on the road.
Dont understand why people commute from reading to london and vice versa■■? Cant they swap jobs?

The government could sort fuel prices out “at a stroke” by reducing the fuel duty “take”.We can’t do much about the world price of crude oil,but we ( Camerons mob )can, by reducing duty which is within the contol of the government. It gets “right up my nostrils” when I hear the politicians “bleating” about the rise in world oil prices, when 66% of the cost of fuel is tax applied by our own government !!! Bewick.

I’ve never understood the travelling to another city to work. I know some of you will say they have no option but to travel, but the amount of cars you see going from Glasgow to Edinburgh and vice versa every morning rush hour is just stupid. It must cost them a fortune in fuel.

no they aren’t. they are balloting for strike action against the bosses cutting the money!

I thought it wasn’t about the money?
Well according to Unite it isn’t:

“This is not about pay - this is about ensuring that high safety and training standards are maintained, so that our communities are safe. It is about a simple measure, the creation of an industry-wide bargaining forum. It is about bringing fairness and stability back to an essential national industry.”

He is back on the cider I am afraid.
Drivers moan about low pay poor conditions, being treated like dog muck, then when some drivers actually do something about it they are called all the names under the sun!!!
Well I say we should take a leaf out of their book…
If you roll over like puppie dogs then that’s how you will be treated! I think you need a certain amount of militancy to get things done. We have at our firm and pay and conditions are "better " than tanker drivers!
You don’t have to be like Arthur scargill or Red Robbo to get things done, it’s all give and take…
We’re all guilty of slagging off the price of fuel on forums like this, in rdc waiting rooms, in the pub etc. But how many have signed the fair fuel petition? I heard Peter Caroll on the radio complaining that only 225k have signed up and there are more drivers than that in London alone. I know it probably won’t do any good, but it will give you the moral high ground to complain about it
Would the Fair Fuel Petition do any good anyway, I signed and sent an email to my MP as requested. would have thought that 225K signatures would have got something but obviously old George and Dave think otherwise. On one of my duties i drive past a Esso garage on the Hounslow road and the prices there change almost daily, at one point there was a 12p difference between unleaded and diesel. Something has to be done but what.
Look at 225k as a percentage of the motoring public. It’s s lot of people but not enough to make them notice. Even 2.25million would not be enough
