Just had an interesting chat with Certas - they’re not interested in matching (or even getting close) to my other card either now or in the future, so I’ve cancelled the account.

Dave
very interesting, and not what you want to hear from a supplier
There is a woman with a fair bit of power who Ive been pointed towards when Ive had issues with attitude, I`ll try and dig out her name if you are interested ?, and there is lad who has been helpful for me called Paul Maguire when the going has got a bit tough with them
Thanks Stan. From the conversation I had with them, they have altered their strategy now and are giving discounts (and price matching) purely based upon how much diesel you’re drawing from them. So in my case as it’s not a lot, I was never going to get to the point of them matching the other card I have at all, and they confirmed that. As far as they’re concerned, the price given to me is still over 10p less than the quoted weekly Government average pump price.
They also pulled a fast one on me and charged me for my cards. I had a deal with them when I set the account up that the cards would be free for the life of the account, but they reneged on that this month without telling me, until I queried why I’d been hit with card costs. I agreed to meet them half way and pay their costs (£6/card).
Reading between the lines, I got the distinct impression that they are only after the high volume users…
It’s certainly left a bad taste the way that I have been treated.

I’ll try Harvest and Watson, and maybe AS24.
Dave
Watson on UKf are pretty keen, but all of them wander off piste at times… regarding AS24, Ive never pursued an account with them as their pricing was very similar to what we had at the time, so not really worth the bother, nice people though and didnt get mardy IIRC

Another slight decrease, which in it`s self is quite remarkable seeing as there are more than enough excuses about ATM to bump it back up

I had a good run yesterday down to Swindon & Shepton Mallet from Cannock, and then back up to the yard in 12.50hours, and that included two hours in Swindon truckstop waiting for my correct booking time to come round @ B&Q
The only hold up was trying to navigate the chaos on the M32 n/b which was closed for pothole repairs @ J1 IIRC, apart from that, it was a decent shift
What I cant get my head around is the amount of people filling up on motorway svc areas, they are proper rip off artists and yet the 4x4 mob still throw money at them
