“They” set a target figure of mpg. Multiply/Divide that by mileage covered. Divide/Multiply that by cost of derv = Fuel bill.
If the fuel bill should have been £2000 but driver reduces consumption and use to £1800 then there’s a saving somewhere of £200. They split that 50/50 giving £100 Fuel Bonus.
Summat like that anyway.
