What’s wrong with name and shame? If you’ve got three months livelihood at stake like this guy, you expect the administrative process to be rigorous, and more than an apology if it isn’t.
And other potential customers deserve to know - when companies fold over bad publicity, that’s what acts as the incentive for others to have the systems in place to get it right. Why should we only ever be force fed good news by the companies themselves?

Doesn’t read as it FTA are trying to ‘cover up’ - the quote from their representative simply states to deal with ‘diplomacy and sensitivity’ …

My advice…? Move on and don’t let this consume you. Human error happens maybe as a good gesture they could offer the next test free and give you 100quid in high street vouchers as an apology.
Yer never going to get 3 months wages out them for an exam you may or may not have passed.
