Frozen Chips -20

the moral of this story is… park in a layby where no other truck can get in, on a road far away from built up areas, making sure you have filled up on red derv, who gives a flying [zb] if you want a wash or hot food or somewhere to get out and about. if you was an ethnic minority you,d be able to go to the strasbourg court of interfering busybodies about your basic rights !!!

When I was tramping at Reed Boardall, when I had to overnight in a layby I just stopped at the nearest services according to drive time and had a shower there…

No it isn’t.

So you park up in a services or truck stop where trucks are coming and going constantly and you expect peace and quiet :open_mouth:

They must leave their brains at home next to the ear plugs :grimacing:

Had it few months back some big i am kept switching fridge off

After 3 rd time he def wont be doing that again and would of had a very sore head in morning

Funny tho fridge never got touched rest of the night

I can’t believe someone would turn off someone else’s reefer, it could cost someone their job!

Their some ■■■■■ about mate
Well thats one now who will def think twice about doing it again lol

Or if loaded with urgent pharmetuticals
Could cost someones life

You never know whats in the back

If you’re pulling a fridge, feel free to park next to me - they don’t bother me in the slightest!

Your a rare breed. :grimacing:

So I’ve always thought! Nothing wakes me up though - when my oldest was a baby, my wife held him screaming next to me whilst I was asleep - not a flicker. Funnily enough though, I always wake up for the alarm

are you sure you are in the right profession? :unamused:

No doubt hes hit a nerve with you :unamused:

don’t think so, I try to keep idling to an absolute minimum, a habit from my days as an o/d. doesn’t bother me if there is a clunky old Lucas running on defrost the whole night while parked next to me either. some people just have to invent problems if there aren’t any :unamused:

They don’t bother me too much just winds me up when they pull the unit fwd so it ain’t rattling behind there head but makes it louder for every one else.

I think some people are just born to moan , I wouldn’t dream of turning off someone’s fridge , sometimes they can be annoying by you soon get used to the sound and nod off. Well I do lol

People living by airports get used to aircraft noise.

You’re thinking old skool, same as people living near race tracks get used to the noise.

Unfortunately, as with trucking, you get a new bunch that move into it and then bloody moan :imp:

Some of my favourite tracks now have so many sound restrictions because of NIMBY’s who’ve bought/inherited their houses in the last 20yrs - even though most have been race tracks since the end of the 2nd world war or the 50’s and were air-bases before that. :unamused:

Mallory park recently got shut down.
But there were noise restrictions in place and the owners/managers didn’t adhere to it so they got shut down.
It has been bought out though and should be up and running again.

I live in the flight path for exeter airport. On top of a hill. We’re about 4 miles out so they come in low.
Been here 24 years. Don’t notice planes anymore.
We do get the red arrows stationed there when they’re doing the airshows round here.
They come over at 200ft in formation. That makes you jump I can tell you!!
