was overtaken on the M6 this afternoon by a daf space cab with (and i counted them) 37 different lights on the front of the cab, all lit up except his headlights, he didnt need them on as he had two sets of fog/spot lights on, tried to give him the thousand yard stare but he was hidden behind his curtains…
There is a very good reason for the lights! I just found out what driving with fog lights on means from another site, it’s a secret code for a club! If you drive with front fog’s on it’s letting others know you are also in the “I have a small willy and am ashamed of it” club! That way when they pass each other they know there not alone
Define small. I have a tape measure at the ready to see if I should have my fog lights on or off.
Well I believe there’s a code for this also, headlights and fog lights on together means between 2 and 3 inches, if it’s less than 2 inches it’s sidelights and fog’s, Diameter is not relevant

In defence of the Scania drivers when you put your front fog lights on there is no warning light on the dash there is however a light on the fog light button but it is obscured by the steering wheel
I have noticed (since I’ve been on the agency at ASDA) that a disturbing number of ASDA drivers put them on. It is illegal to have them on but to be fair they cause absolutely no harm to anybody else and light up the road that bit more in the dark. However, no matter whether the steering wheel obstructs the sign, you would have to physically push the button in a scania to get them on, once you turn the iginition off, they go off and do not come back on if you just put the headlights on. There is a reason that they are on a seperate switch !

You had time to count all 37 lights? It says more about you than it does him. I assume you weren’t in charge of a vehicle at the time?

When I get somebody behind me with their fog lights on I put my rear fog light on, pi55es them right off esp when we`re on a nice single carriageway
I’ve started doing that too now and also flashing the idiots coming toward me if they are dazzling

So you’r saying if someone comes towards dazzling you with they foglights/mainbeam you then do the same to them so niether of you can see the road, thus increasing the chances of colliding with eachother.
That makes sense
werent to hard to count rob he had… 6 top spots , 3 spots on the grille, under bumper light bar think that was 5, side of bumper marker lights 3 on each side two cab marker lights and the others where in groups of 5 in a sort of arrow shape on the front, checking my mirrors as he overtook me meant i was able to calculate in my mind how many there were, while still keeping in complete control of my vehicle arriving safely at my destination.

I think what hes saying is he gives them a quick flash of his lights, I think he meant his lights but could be mistaken.  So it shouldnt dazzle them more than a fraction of a second.

No I’m saying I “flash” my main beam or my own fog lights just as you would if someone was coming toward you and forgotten to turn off their main beam!
