Something needs to be done to protect the vulnerable road users as some drivers have an appalling attitude towards them. :unamused:

So why would a ‘vulnerable’ road user want to put themselves in more danger than a ‘non vulnerable’ road users by ignoring rules like don’t try to under take left turning traffic or over take right turning traffic.

You wouldn’t do it driving a car because of the all too predictable results so why would you want to do it riding a ‘vulnerable’ bicycle.

Right, no I never ever had a car trying to get itself squashed when I drove lorries. :unamused: Are you sure you were a lorry driver? Try to look at it from a different perspective for a change.
It’s all the hatred towards cyclists that seems to make some drivers forget that a lot of the time these accidents are cause by impatient arrogant and selfish dozy drivers.
The good drivers and the good cyclists are all given a bad reputation because of all many bad ones that flout every rule in the book but blame each other.
A lot of these new regs are brought on by the bad drivers and bad cyclists.

Richard8:
How will this work with automated trucks? I can see lots of head camera wearing self important twerps in Lycra getting squashed.

Don’t worry the cyclists will be safe. The auto truck will not be impatient, will not be distracted , will see the cyclist and stop if necessary.

Yes I’ve seen a few cars or motorbikes trying the old over take while you’re turning right fast track to the cemetery or less often the under take while turning left one in my time.More often when driving cars not trucks.
I don’t remember amyone saying that’s the turning vehicle’s fault.

As for bad drivers and bad cyclists. There is only one bad side in the event of a collision between and over or under taking vehicle passing something at a junction while it’s turning right or left.

Your answer to that is let’s make it ok to do it that’ll make vulnerable road users safer.

It’s clear who the retarded cyclist and who’s never driven a car let alone a truck is here.Your failure to answer the question, how does such a rule make vulnerable road users less vulnerable, confirms it.

Carryfast:
The government has been taken over by Bolshevik retards and this proves it.
It’ll turn into a bigger massacre than Smart Motorways.
It doesn’t just affect truck drivers it affects all drivers.

Logically it sets the precedent of double standards applying to cyclists regarding all priorities not just under/over taking turning traffic. :unamused:

Keep your Bolshevik insults to yourself.

This has the sticky liberal fingerprints of the cycling lobby all over it, and as a socialist I have no hesitation in saying these new pro-cyclist rules are the most absurd and irrational proposal since Caligula appointed his horse.

I’ll believe it when I hear Jim McMahon backed by David Lammy say that.
‘Pro cyclist’ means over or under take turning vehicles through junctions for added effect make it the side they are indicating turning towards.

Might as well also reverse all priorities at junctions and roundabouts and ignore all traffic signals for cyclists.

Sounds as anti cyclist as it gets depending on the definition of pro cyclist.
