Due to the closure of the A9 and M90 southbound at Broxden r/a Perth because of heavy snow tonight,I was directed to park up in the Broxden Business Park. To cut a long story short,I’m stuck on a hill.I was trying to get myself moving with no success when 4 local residents turned up armed with shovels and proceeded to try and dig me out. They had the same amount of success. While they were trying,3 ladies came up and asked me if I was ok for food and drink.Told them I was fine.
A little later,a guy out walking his dog knocked the door and asked if I needed any hot water for a drink.Again, said I was ok.
Couldn’t get over their kindness.Sort of restores your faith in human nature
Just hope the gritters get their [zb] together before morning
some pple are good but tbh people are still [zb], going between junction 3 and 4 of the m90 last night (its about 2 miles or so) road was pure white and just as we got to the bottom of fthe valley (if you know the road you know where im on about) the traffic starts to stop.
minibus had got stuck on the sliproad (iveco minibus so no weight over its backside)
the first 4 drivers directly behind the bus just sat in their cars and never bothered to get out and help and about 8 of us dug and pushed this bus out to the top of the sliproad (its a long one at kelty)
just lucky enough for the 4 cars behind the bus got up no problem because we wernt gonna help them, it wasnt like we were stuck for 5 mins it was an hour and a half from me getting to the sliproad to walking up to the top of it (my dad came and took the car from me)
in the process 4 gritters went the opposite way…with the ploughs up.
currently my cars sitting at the bottom of the street…buried lol
im glad i put the shovel in the car before i went out yesterday.
Newhouse Ind Estate (Scotland) I got stuck on a hill last year the loacal business watched me and my mate for a hour try to get me to move Backwards or Forwards, Then eventually out comes the chicken wire donated by a steel warehouse then under my tyres and i managed to get it rolling backwards all the way down the hill.
SCOTLAND is the best place to get stuck they always help. Although years ago like a muppet i parked half on the road and half on the grass in birmingham and a Polish V8 Scanny turned up and pulled me out. He did tell me not to tell anyone tho lol And it cost me a case of fanta orange that i just bought the day before.
Muckaway:
And should the snow come to Oxfordshire, there’s a few friendly locals at Middleton Stoney who’ll knock on your door “to see if you’re okay…”
Yeah, but you only get horses and carts out there…
