Thats my best mates Grandads firm, dont know if you know Chris Wyatt Sundowner, he co-founded Cartco Of Diss.

Hiya kindle, I know of Chris but don’t know him. I’m not a local and have only lived in the Diss area for about 20 years so I’m now just getting to know one or two locals

I’ve nearly always worked for Felixstowe based hauliers apart from a couple of shorts stints at 7 squadron and one at Mr CT

You know a few people i do then mate!
Hows the job hunting going??
I did see a banner on the gates of Hanbury Davis at Elmswell (the old Loadwell yard) that was advertising for class 1 drivers, mind you, its been up a while, dont know if theyre still looking or havent bothered to take the banner down
The best job around our way is aparently at Magnus at Blakenham, £31k pa if you average 3 nights out a week. Very cushy work, 100% legal and youre not pushed. They do boxes, tilts, and their own stuff.

what pillock parked that Lada next to the Vabis?

Malc, I would say that is a Fiat not a Lada think it was a 132 . Lada must have bought the body pressings and made their own version after Fiat moved onto a new body style.

It’s a Fiat 125 - a 1600 version of the 124 Saloon…you can tell with the twin headlamps.

The Fiat 132 was a 2-litre different and much newerr design…had a advertising campaign of “Wolf in Sheeps Clothing”

Lada’s were Fiat 124’s …they bought a complete set of production lines from the Italians and built them in what at the time was the worlds biggest car factory
