Fridge work

Evening all, so with the break up of my relationship I’m considering getting my license back.
Maybe thinking of trying to get 4 on 4 off shift as would be great for getting to see my son.
Would like to try fridge work so could anyone recommend decent firms north west area i.e Warrington Trafford Haydock or this sort of area as if only traveling there and back once a week it’s not a problem as only around 30-45 mins away.
Cheers

Only one I know up here was tesco at Widnes and that was always a hole you’d never want to venture into.
Would be mainly looking for 4 on 4 off tramping to be fair save the daily travel.

I feel your pain. Relationships break up even if you are home daily. Good luck in your new venture

Better invest in a sat-nav if you do get back on the road as you seem to be referring to the area southerners refer to as the North West as the North East.
Yes, I know it’s pedantic.

Cheers for that yeah looking to tramp ideally 4 0n 4 off don’t want to sit in a home on my own would sooner be out in truck and makes it a different environment, almost like I’m just at work and will see my son once back home after my few days, rather than knowing she’s shacking up with someone else and my sons around the corner but it’s not my visit day if that makes sense

That might not work out how you think. You’ll have more time on your own to sit there festering in your own dark thoughts with nobody to talk to whereas at least if you’re at home after work you can go see your friends and go out and do something other than sit in a truck stop bar necking pint after pint.

Agency route is best for controlling the days you work.

I second this. Whenever I’ve wanted the job to take a back seat this is exactly where I head. Easy, reliable, predictable

Cheers Conor but sadly I don’t know that many around where we live, so my mates are on the end of the phone as opposed to local, probably more chance of bumping into one on night out on truck.
Quite happy to lay back on bed and chat and message mates for a couple of hours or watch tv and sleep.

Cheers Luke yeah agree with the Agency route as Conor also pointed out sorry Conor forgot to mention it in my reply to you.
Agency isn’t as much a dirty word as it used to be nowadays and as you say gives you so much flexibility and almost puts you in charge of when you work and don’t.

I do supermarket work & the agency drivers can’t choose their days or start times, they work to a rota & start times given as needed.

He can still pick and choose a time window for the starting times he wants and the agency will then only send drivers who are willing to start within the times that the customer needs.
He should then be able to make a decent wage, and balance time off to spend with his kid, and maybe even work around school holidays so that he can take the kid away on holiday
