Fridge work

If you are delivering chilled or frozen ask at the delivery point if they want the doors open or closed before you back onto the bay, if there is going to be a delay in tipping the temperature might rise out of range if you are sat waiting with the doors open for an extended period of time especially if it is an open bay, they often probe the goods before accepting them and loads out of range can be refused.

And that’s where roller doors come in handy

Till it freezes shut
When on for Aptito (other firms available ) the roller was frozen to the point of having to use a claw hammer to break the ice where it had been left in the corner of the yard banging away with a leaky seal. God knows how long it was there.
It had be put there after having probs with the fridge, fitter sorted it and they were told to just leave it to run for a bit shutter was told not to use it but to keep an eye on it.i think it was just left plugged in on the electric

Never done fridge work myself but there was a thread a few years back where one fridge man had it up there with splitting the atom.

The TM told me this morning that after I’d done a fridge run I’d never want to go back to curtains, I’m starting to think he was right

I’m on fridge work and I wouldn’t do anything else, I reckon your TM is right.

Definitely. Been on fridges now for over 2 years. I’d quite happily never pull a flat or curtain sider ever again.

Too right and having to get out and open the barn doors is too much like hard work, should really have a drivers assistant for that.

Bugger that, if it’s on the bay it’s someone else’s problem…drivers bedtime
