if its frozen you get used to noise if chillrd and on and off its a pain but they have to park somewhere. i have fridge on sometimes and often get dirty looks but always empty when park up and wind up others. very funny realy

chilled should be constant not stop start …frozen on stop start
chilled to maintain temp at + 2 or 3 etc , if you have it on S/S the tem will rise upto 4degs more putting the load at +6.
Frozen once down to -24 will rise to - 20 or -18 which is within its tolerance

If I had trouble sleeping , I used to go on Trucknet & read all the nonsense on a thread about fridge drivers!
