Were they shouting to each other too as that’s normal at night.
It’s possible…
To do a changeover and be quiet about it but, these days everyone seems intent on being as loud as possible.
You can park towards the back rows and that can lessen the noise for you because most change overs will take place at the entrance.
As for drivers starting in the morning it’s just bad manners and selfish. I find the same thing happens at which ever hotel I’ve chosen to stay at be it The Ritz in London or the Traveltavern on the Norwich by-pass, no one gives a toss about the noise they make.

I was present at the K&N trailer change…
At Abington services, when the Yorkshire based driver with the Scottish accent swapped trailers with the Scottish based driver with the Yorkshire accent and one of the six trailers that went up that night…came back again.
