Agency don’t park in laybys because we get our parking paid by the agency. Plenty of fulltime drivers parking in laybys because their employers won’t pay for parking though.
Strensham services 4pm last night. Sat in my cab having a bite to eat when in comes an artic belonging to a well known UK firm. Parks in the row in front of me. Driver gets out, ■■■■■■ against his unit rear wheel, gets back in and drives off, leaving a big wet patch just where the next driver is likely stand in if he gets out of his truck to use the services. Next thing is the guy who was parked to the left of this moron opens his window and throws his McDonalds paper bag with all his crap in it out of the window. Ate my tea watching his coffee and mcflurry cups roll around the parking area. Shallow end of the gene pool springs to mind.
that’s two prime examples as to why MWSA’s and such take the opinion of “why provided clean services to a bunch of animals” ?
Drove back from Bristol, decided to take the A46 as I wrongly thought there’d be a snack van. Saw a couple just after the M5 but I’d still got 2 hours driving so pressed on expecting so see another - wrong - so continued to try and get to the Shell Garage on the A14 (where the McDonald’s is on the A14 just before Kettering) to get a subway. Parked up on the double yellows on the slip outside and put it on break on 4hrs 25mins. Then see a bloke in a high vis coat with a clipboard. Thinks to myself here we go he’s gonna want me to move, typical for Friday 13th. He asked me why I’d stopped. I told him I was empty and a strong cross wind had just given me a scare so I pulled over. Turned out he was doing a survey as they are considering constructing a Lorry park at the site so said it’d be a good place for one as there’s nowhere you can park up and go to the toilet and get food for miles if you take to route I was on.
I was loading up earlier and got a paper cut. This day is cursed!
I just tipped at Tosco Teesport in the world record time of 1 hour 20 minutes (gate to gate)
I was hoping to get at least 5 hours !
