I took the offer of an electric blanket and central heating this weekend. I left the bus on Friday lunchtime, and haven’t returned until turned 8 tonight (had a night out in the wagon last night) I cleared the solar panels Friday morning as last week I had no power from them after 3” of snow landed on them.
Anyhow I’ve had a good charge over the weekend but it was still cold when I got home tonight. -1 in the bedroom and on the display for the solar downstairs.
I’ve now got 18 degrees in the bedroom and kitchen and 20 downstairs. Don’t get me wrong it will be chilly in the morning when I wake up but I’ll be snug under the duvet.
How long does it take to heat up the bus when you get the fire going?
Have you got copper tube wrapped around the flue to heat up water for washing or hot drinks? A friend did this with a chiminea he has in his conservatory and it works a treat.
All depends how cold it is mucker, but within an hour the bus is warm from freezing, I have a small calor gas type fire too.
I used a copper pipe round it last year to heat a radiator in the bedroom but did away with is as the flue keeps the bedroom warm. I was going to use it to heat water but have decided to go with gas instead.

should have kept it anything that heats anything else up free has gotta be worth it
I know what your saying. I had the coil piped directly to a radiator. I filled it with old engine oil as water expands too much and just sealed it. It worked very effectively but was messy.
