Ive never paid for parking in a european country yet, unless it was a secured parking which are usually just off the motorway (not services) and even then these varied in price from 5 euros to 10 Euros and include a 5 euro meal allowance in the cafe (the SVG in Nuess is a favorite, 10 euro parking with a 10 euro meal voucher which can also be spent of beer

No worries buddy. Im assuming he was the sort of driver whos probably never been on the M20. Saying that i slummed it other week when Op Stack was on and used to cobelfret from purfleet, Was erm… different haha
