:imp: When I asked my Jobcentre for HGV training I was told to sod off.

Each JSP has their own criteria but its always worth checking with your local one to see if they do it and you match their criteria for it - often find that you have to be on JSA for 6 months etc

As usual those who who work have to pay for there own training while those on benefits street get it given to them.

Same they wouldnt even help with my mod 4, when it was the only thing stopping me working.

Hopefully there is some sort of process where they have to prove they want to do it as a career, seeing how it probably costs the same as 6 months dole for just class 2.

Why?

We have a girl who works for us , got it all paid for via the job centre .
What the hell is wrong with getting a job (any job there are plenty about for those that want to work :imp: ) , saving up and paying your own way
Boils my ■■■■ to be honest .
She is pretty useless and has done over £25 k worth of damage in just over a year :unamused:

They did this years ago and I worked with a lad who got his class one through the dole.
Well he had no interest in anything other than his wage at end of week, turned up late didn’t have a clue about the industry etc…he once rang me up due to a problem with his truck and I said what sort of truck you in and he didn’t know :open_mouth: I had to say look at the middle of the steering wheel and tell me what the badge says :open_mouth:
If they are going down this route again I hope they go through a proper training programme.

Nice to see they’re using our hard earned tax money to keep the job market uncompetative and keep our wages down. :imp:

they done this with the taxi game, putting everyone with a license into it, now there are thousands of cabbies sharing little work for less money but it keeps there jobless figures down, this is bad news for the industry as it will push wages down, and before to long hauliers will be getting grants to take them on,

Well known tipper/walking floor firm in the north east run an apprenticeship scheme for young drivers. At the minute apprentices (in any industry) are paid £130/week, £60 of which has been paid to the employer by the tax payer. Boils my ■■■■.
A few years ago in a factory I worked at, we were told that in a few weeks there’d be 2 apprentices joining us, funnily enough everyone who wasn’t pally with the gaffers started getting hassle (myself included, ‘face don’t fit’ type of workplace) and asked to do extra overtime, got told off for smallest of things, put on probation, while the blue eyed boys got away with doing no overtime, coming in late, no hi-vis or steelies, climbing on machinary with moving parts, etc.
Set up so that in time for the apprentices arriving, they’d just handed out final warnings and sacked the 2 they’d replace. Saved the company only a daft £350 a week, justification being “aye but it’s took 2 young lads off the dole”… so what about the 2 young lads you’ve just put ON the dole :unamused:
