Dunno if this is of any use to anyone but I got a laptop from Staples at the weekend and it was completely free, the only catch being that you have to sign up for a two year mobile broadband contract at £30 a month. Even so, this seemed like a deal to me.
sorry to burst your bubble harry but its not as good a deal as you think.
at the moment you are paying for a laptop and mobile broadband for £720 (over 2 years)
£ 30 X 24 = £720
if you got a three dongle (3GB) for £15 a month (over 24 months = £360)
£ 720-£ 360=£ 360
you can get a semi decent laptop for £360 or less and you are not tied to a 24 month contract either so you can walk away at any time.
yes it is a good way of not running out of Broadband but i bet the laptop isnt worth £360
Staples retail the same laptop for over £400 and although you might well be able to get it for less elsewhere, the point is that you don’t have to lay out that sum.
it is a good deal but if you dont want to be tied to a contract for 24 months im just syaing there are cheaper ways.
is the mobile broadband 3 or vodaphone or someone else?
My mobile internet is Vodafone. £7.50 per month for unlimited use and 3G speed, i use my fone as the modem (Nokia N95) and its just as quick as one of them dongles. Whats that, about £170 over two years? Its costing you £22.50 per month for a laptop?
Be interested to know what the spec of the laptop is Harry.
