free driver on sundays

ROG:

delboytwo:
i think he does want to drive Rog

If the company driver is in with him whilst he is driving then that makes no difference to what I said.

and that would be the most sensible way forward, both for Clarykboy and the company concerned :sunglasses:

Steady-on Denis, I thought for a moment that you meant that ROG made a sensible suggestion. :open_mouth:   :grimacing:

ROG:
If you are asking to go out for free with another driver and not drive the truck instead of another driver then I fail to see how that could be pinching a job !!
Or have I missed something…

Well you may have missed the subject heading “free driver on Sundays”, reading the original post clarkyboy appears to be looking for a class 1 driving job which he will do without pay, there’s no mention of going out with another driver, that came after it was suggested by someone else.

you beat me there tachograph

Any plumbers or electricians want to come round my house and do some work ? Just to get some experience of course, when they,ve finished i may be interested in a painter and decorator too.
What a sorry state this industry is in . Then they tell us the CPC will make it more professional.

Clarkey, have you thought about maybe trying your local farmers. It may not be an artic but a tractor and trailer still bends, giving you some practice reversing bendi’s.

Thinking outside the box

I was not sure of the OPs intentions as many posts, including many of mine, do not always come across as intended which is why I started with ‘if’

lets get one thing straight,it was nothing to do with getting my hands dirty,it was to do with paying my mortgage and the job you are on about was never offerd, only a maybe.i went to work in a shopto pay my mortgage and feed my kids!!!WHAT IS WRONG WITH THAT■■?.

the job i do now is very physical handballing and not just throwing sheets and ropes over at each end(im not saying thats easy either)i havent been on because i ve been getting my head down and learning my new job aswell as many other factors that have nothinjg to do with you.till this date i havent had a bump or scrape with the firm im with now and was complemented on my driving by the company trainer so stop trying to cause trouble and speculate that im not on the artics for any other reason than were that flat out that time for training is a problem.

my thinking is that if i can a start learning now it makes things alot easier later.

ok maybe so but what you are saying is your firm do’es have artics but wont let you try

maybe you are busy to come on here but you soon found time when you need another " favour ".

what happened to the other job on nights for mc carthys…

clarkyboy:
startin my new job on monday and im really lookin forward to it.its at mccarthys haulage in wrexham on nights and its perfect for myself and my family as its nights and fits in with home life perfectly. class 2 adr and it will be my first official hgv job since being made redundant in august then doing my class 2,class 1 and my adr.was on lwb 7.5t for 9 years but what im driving now will be alot bigger .i feel for everyone whos lookin for a job as i was but im sure with a bit of luck, hard work and determination it will all come good.happy new year to everyone.

im sorry i find it very strange that you come on here asking for a stranger to take you out for a practice when you own manager who knows you wont give you a chance. does that sound weird to you as well.

i sat next to a new driver not long ago, i zb myself, he drove like he was in his saxo :unamused: :unamused: , slowed him down a bit when he had to restack 4 pallets of pork pies hed tipped over though    , never again :exclamation: :exclamation: .

Why not just sign up with an agency, things will get busier nearer xmass, will get a least one class 1 shift no doubt. Just tell the agency you can only work every second sunday and are only interested in class 1 work.

Then you will get your experience and will be getting paid for it.

Ring st helens 01744 833104 and ask for transline recruitment at somerfield depot as they always have agency drivers in on a sunday, as the above post says you learn and get paid.

many thanks for all the USEFUL POSTS.

hiya,

■■■■, I was late.

I was preparing very funny rant about bloody western europeans who steal our jobs by working well under minimum wage. I wanted also to ask if he is going to claim his child benefit for his kids, who live with their grandparents in Spain… :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing:
