Going to Switzerland by car at weekend. Anyone know what the motorways are like through France and Switzerland. Weather, any snow etc. Usually go down through Strasbourg. Thanks
Click on an area of the map to get up to date weather info for that area.
autoroutes.fr/index.htm?lang=en for the site portal to get any other info.
If you enter your destination in Switzerland, you’ll probably get a the info for Swiss too.
Last week, the motorways were all clear. This week I was in Germany so I dunno if that’s changed, but it would be unusual if it has.
Be sure to pack two warning triangles for breakdowns, one in front of the car,one behind, and a high jacket for standing on the side of the road when broken down, hefty fines for this im afraid.
Beware of small objects at the side of the motorway, they look like baked bean tins, but are radars, they want you to go slower in bad weather.
Formulae 1 motels are quite cheap, yellow buildings with an shower and loo that cleans itself when you are finished.
French coffee is like fence creosote ditch water, the same brand all over,Seafrido or some sort, but cant beat their croissants.
Hotels out in the rural areas, may be slightly cheaper than the bigger towns and cities.

Is that for Switzerland Toby ? Because it certainly isn’t the case in France

it is the case in france. most of europe insists on the above, plus spare bulbs. and it’s a hi vis for each occupant.

Sorry Phil you are wrong on two counts there
In a car you only need 1. Triangle
And only the driver needs a hi-vis

not according to the info given at a peage by some school kids, and they gave me a red bull too.
Only one triangle required
Autoroute operators recommend high vis vests for all vehicle occupants (but as far as I can see only the driver is legally required to wear one).
