Hi all,
I’m looking for pictures of lorries operated by Fox Petroleum from Stockport, in particular this one:

I took these photos back at the Banbury steam fair in the early 1990’s, and I’m hoping to make a model of this lorry and could do with a few more reference photos.
If anyone has such a thing I would love to see them!
Cheers
Ian
Hi, That truck brings back a few memories !! I worked for Fox petroleum/ Fox and Bowmer of Reddish, Stockport around about 1982, it was my first heavy goods driving job. When I joined they had this vehicle and an older Atkinson tractor unit (really old) which i only drove a couple of times, this was soon replaced with a Leyland Buffalo not high tec but a lot better. I used to drive the vehicle in the photograph on a regular basis and it was used on semi bulk loads, one of its regular destinations was the Palace Hotel, Buxton, bit of a plod fully loaded, 150 bhp not alot on those hills, but it just thumped away and always got me there. Later on If memory serves we used to carry heavy light and medium fuel oil on this vehicle and used to load out of Phillips at Weaste Salford, I think it only had two pots , both 9200 litres or 2000 gallons each. I was 21/22 years old when I started work for Fox petroleum, It was taken over by Shell Direct and moved to Trafford park and the transport manager Brian Grant and Paul Bowmer Director ■■? went with them. the latter being the son of Peter Bowmer of Fox and Bowmer pre Fox Petroleum, He would certainly have photos. I have no photos ! but if you read this post, I would love to see some photos if you did acquire any.
Regards Geoff Nicholas

Just happened to be searching the web when I spotted your picture, that’s my dads old wagon, he drove it for years and I did many miles in it as a lad during the school holidays. Brought back many memories. I am sure I have some old pictures of other wagons somewhere, I need to go and look them out. The finished model looks great.
