hi all…been to fowler passed the assesment n offered a job …but pay is crap…7.22 an hr on days…hmmm maybe not … thanks all
£110 a day + fuel bonus and meal allowance @ browns, that’s on AM Multi drop shift with starts from midnight till about 0500 I think at that rate.
mmm 110 quid for a 15hr day starting at silly hrs
where do I put my name down
Where do you work to do 15 hours every day?
We don’t run bent and you’d be a fool to yourself to let yourself get a split rest and let the office know.
My hours are down to an average of about 11 a day now, it’d be less if Brakes at Aylesford and Tilmanstone Salads could tip you in a reasonable time frame.
Oh and for Lincolnshire that is one of the better paid jobs
I know one place that pays £80 a day, no meal allowance either.
I know people working for QV foods doing the packing on far more money than 7 odd an hour… (not that they shouldn’t or dont deserve that wage) but theres me thinking we are professional drivers that paid a small fortune for the poxy cpc and no doubt will pay for more crap that they decide to throw at us…get hounded by vosa and their poxy rules…have a vast amount of responsibility for driving these vehicles yet get offered silly money for all of it…makes you wonder why the money is so poor at certain companies?

We’ve done this many a time, just because the factory worker earns the same p.h doesn’t mean he earns the same p.w ,do they get f/b,m/a + do 70/80 hrs p.w ,in most if not all no they don’t,so it’s pretty irrelevant.
It’s like the old one of the shelf stacker/ burger flipper earning the same as us,most do par time work,20/30 hrs p.w so there on a 1/4 -1/3 p.w of what we earn p.a,p.w.
I don’t want the hours to be honest ,but wage wise looking at the end of the week,p.a I’m over the average wage for this country so I can’t really complain .
And too be honest there’s a lot worse off than me,struggling to make ends meet .
Maybe that’s the problem in this industry,a lot of us are of a age where mortgage gone, plenty of savings,no debts , biggest problem being which colour new car too have ,where are we going on holiday etc etc .
Get ready for it 70/80 hrs a week ,it’s 2014 ,that’s x2 what the average bloke does .
N.b I’d love 40 hrs a week for what I earn, but I’m zb if I can find a job doing that, best of luck finding one

Alright since you were ready for it .
You mentioned at the beginning although a factory worker may earn more, it’s irrelevant as you earn more in a week due to working longer hours. You went on to end the post saying you’d love to earn the same for a 40 hour week but can’t. A bit conflicting. So how is what someone earns by the hour not relevant?
