pic of mine in the dark…
I saw this on a police web site some time ago ref lights
This is perfectly legal, all the law says is that you must not show a red light on the front of your vehicle and a white one to the rear (unless its for reversing).
Regulation 11(1) of the Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations 1989 provides the offence of showing a RED light to the front of a vehicle (except in certain prescribed circumstances). With respect to the increasing trend for blue LEDs being fitted to the front of vehicles (e.g. in the front windscreen washers, front registration plate screw holes, and neon lights under the front spoiler, etc) it must be remembered that the Road Vehicles Lighting Regs are quite old and simply do not cater for these new trends. Providing the blue LED lights are static and do not flash (like police blue flashing lights or beacons), then they do not come within regulation 16 of the Road Vehicles Lighting Regs 1989 (even if the LEDs are blue). The one exception to this is if the LEDs are mounted on the wipers themselves and move whilst the wipers are in action. This would contravene regulation 12 of the Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations 1989 because they are “not fixed”
the answer is easy, white, blue, amber all ok facing forward, or else kelsa and the likes wouldnt make them
But LED washer jets SHOULD BE ILLEGAL. And anyone caught putting them on a small hatchback should be HUNG FROM THE NEAREST LAMPOST.
