Forum downtime 4-5/02/2012

An apology for last nights and this mornings forum downtime.

About 10pm last night our server suffered a hardware failure. We migrated the forums to a new larger server which took some time and was completed by 2am.

After keeping an eye on things for a while our tech guys went to get some kip. Unfortunatly a while later the database on the new server crashed. This took a while to be noticed by me (as I was asleep :wink: ).

About 9.30 this morning I managed to get hold of our tech’s who have repaired the database tables - however due to this being a new server we may have to make tweaks to the configuration over the next few days to optimise it, and unexpected crashes may occur.

A word of thanks to techman who stayed up late last night to resolve the original issue, and was woken up at 5am (local time) on a Sunday by me to fix the database crash.

I had a great nights sleep too, instead of sat into the small hours I went to bed, no trucknet, so I had to talk to the wife :frowning: :stuck_out_tongue:

A well at least we were not sat in a cab waiting for the fitter to arrive,especially last night.Cheers Mike.

Was this the problem on Friday evening? Had trouble getting in most of the evening.

Its no good enough really i pay 20 quid a month subscription to coffeholic as im sure everyone does, But to have the service disrupted stinks. I think we are entitled to a partial refund if anything.
