Forklift Course and DCPC

Hi everyone firstly Happy New Year. I am considering doing a forklift course and NVQ 2 in warehousing through RTITB and was wondering whether any of this could double up and count towards my DCPC■■? Thanks in advance for any answers

If you can find courses that have been approved for the DCPC. You’ll need to check that first, you can’t just do any course and have it count.

There are some FLT courses have been approved for DCPC with some training providers - but I think these will start to disappear.

I was considering doing this as I already provide the RTITB FLT course - but there doesn’t seem to be much demand considering the extra outlay to get the DCPC approval (£250 per 7 hours). PLUS … when quizzing a JAUPT Inspector/Auditor his opinion (and it may only have been his opinion and not that of JAUPT) was that JAUPT don’t like this and will stop approving FLT courses as DCPC.

Mind you - the same guy said that he didn’t agree ADR should count as 21 (never mind 28) hours of DCPC. He suggested ADR should only account for 7 hours for the First Aid and Fire Fighting bit. Again could just be his opinion but he claimed he sat on some kind of board at JAUPT and was involved in policy making. I dunno more than that.

I think if you can find a seperate Moffet course - there is far more chance of that being approved as DCPC as it is more vehicle related. Again - I’m guessing.

Good luck on your search.
