They’re all 3 axle units with a lift axle I believe

Own car transporters still the highest paid lorry job in the country? Rest of fleet only a fraction behind? Dead mens shoes, and bloody good luck to 'em.
Just shows what being well unionised and sticking together can result in.
Ford is the biggest rumour mill in the country!! When I was there for 12 of the 19 months they were telling the 150 odd people on temporary contracts it was our last week! Or that we were going to get made permanent it chopped and changed almost daily. There was always lots of rumours floating around about stobarts gonna come in and do all the transport for them
nothing changes then as the rumuor mill was quite active when I was there too also when I was working at Gatwick airport that had a good rumuor mill going as well
so glad I,m not driving anymore cos by looking on forums its just crazy with all that’s going on, digital tacho,s…licences and all the other stuff, so much more enjoyable in the days of log books…lol

Whenever I go onto the Dagenham site I’m astounded by the number of vehicles that are parked not is use. I would say there is always approx 100 units dotted about and several hundred trailers most of which are in trailer parks. The units all have a numbered bay that they get retuned to when not in use.

Any brave soul who would admit to driving a Ford Cargo in the past has guts.
WOHWOHWOH there Pat!
I loved the old girls! They were dead modern (and still do it for me!). The L10-powered version was the best, quick and light.
Pat, I drove for the Ford On Show team out of M’c’r (Concorde) for a while, so maybe I’m brainwashed. (I still know all the lyrics to “Everything We Do”!)
BTW, search “Ford Cargo” on YouTube and you’ll see that S America (esp Brasil) is riddled with them, including the new one (but what is that customising all about…?)
Don’t worry about Pat - he’s just the Chief ‘in house’ Cargo basher! We need peeps like him. I have an L10 powered 3828 Cargo that I just love to bits. I use it as a second runabout sometimes and on odd ocassions in the Summer turn up for work in it. Always raises a few eyebrows…

You are a lucky man. I’d settle for a 3224. Where are they all now?

All the heavier weight trucks were all rabidly exported in the mid to late 90’s. New Zealand and Malta were prime export markets and both have a hefty contingent of ex-UK Cargos. A lot of course were scrapped here, as the steel thickness of the cabs wasn’t that great - though that helped in terms of payload etc.

There are a couple of threads on here dedicated to Ford Cargos. Do a search as there is a whole host of excellent pics - mine is on there somewhere too (the Kwaker green coloured one).
I heard better. Imagine the situation: HP near Glasgow sends some printed handbooks to their factory in Czech Republic, as the factory is new and works only at half of its capacity, awaiting new transport links to be build. Until then, they rent some of their space to whoever is interested…
One day a load of the handbooks does not arrive in Greenock on time to be sent to Czech Republic. They start to look for it. After tracking it down, they found that the stuff is actually printed by Canon. The bigest manufacturer of printers prints their handbooks at the competitor’s. But that’s not what is best.
Canon outscored this job to their printing works in Czech Republic. Printing works are in rented property there. They rented a space in a big factory, that works only at half of its capacity, awaiting new transport links to be build. Yup, you guessed it.
After this discovery, instead of shipping the stuff from HP factory in Czech Republic to HP in Scotland and then back, they just deliver it on the forklift for the whole distance of 80m doors to doors
That was obviously one of the newbies…LOL… they aint gonna give us the nice shiney new DAF’s are they…
Dafs I here you cry??, but you work for ford■■?..
Yep, its cheaper to Lease a fleet of DAF’s off of another lease company rather than use there own IVECO/Strallis…LOL
