Ford Transcontinental

Here’s another.

Does anybody got any photos of tydesly wilkinson transport.i used to load them with groupage at mat transport in zwijndrecht in 1983 1984. If my memorie is right sombody called billy Jennings and stan was working for them.

Hi. I was driving for Tyldsley Wilkinson at about the time you are asking about. Billy Tingle and Stan Mills were also there as was Pat Hunter and Tony Jeffries (handbag). Tony Hasstle was another driver. Dave Hollinghurst was an owner driver for us too. He had a blue F88. I’m Chris Webster and I loaded out of your yard many times. Was it Jannsen and Myer or something like that. We pulled for Mat Transport out of Manchester and Hull. I drove their Mack F700 for a time and also turned up in a Roman too.
I have been trying to find some pictures of our Transcons but the kids (including Big Dorris) played with the photos and most are lost.
The trouble is that a faded photo is better than a faded memory.

I think they’re made in Turkey, you see loads of Ford Cargos in Istanbul, old version and new.
