I saw some of the most crap behaviour from an ‘artic’ driver in a while on the M6 north of Brum at around 2.30pm yesterday. Trying to intimidate the wagon in front of him by bobbing in and out behind him just because the guy was on his limiter and Mr Ford couldn’t get by him, all this time he was 5 feet from the lad in front’s back doors
. I held back because to say this guy was iratic would be an understatement, he then decided on a downhill to get past the guy in front and just forced his way out by virtually barging the car next to him out of the way. Owing to his poor driving skill he then got stuck in the slow moving inside lane as me and the guy he’d passed cruised past him
.
Two things here, more haste less speed, and, if you’re on here, sort yourself out pal, you are an embarrasment to the rest of us. If you are his mate that was driving fine way back behind him,and you know this idiot, please have a word. Driving for Ford in a lovely new MAN TGX you should be better than that !!

Ford drivers always make me laugh. Overpaid, underworked, unprofessional, lazy. Been tucked up by a few over the years
They seem to be limited higher than everyone else and they are usually in a hurry to get past you like their arse is on fire.
Must be job and knock.
Now here’s a funny thing. The Ford job is without doubt one of the best paying drivers jobs in the country. Despite this I regularly see this sort of behaviour from them. They’re paid handsomely by the hour so what’s the rush? We had a lad on here who worked inside at Fords who then took his LGV with them and went on the road. He doesn’t frequent here now, we’re not good enough for him!
a vast majority of the ford fleet drivers are time served factory employies given a hgv course for long service, they take their test then start as hgv drivers on the following monday with zero knowledge or experience.they are proberbly the best paid drivers in europe and have the least ability.when they took over axial a mate was taken off of his car transporter because people in the factory had been on a waiting list to become car transporter drivers,he now drives a transit on axial wages and cant stop smiling.when they start they cant couple up to a trailer or know how to open a curtain

Have they changed they’re policy. About 10-15 yers ago there was a big race relation tribunol went on over the Dagenham fleet recruitment policy, which led to the whole driver fleet leaving the T & G and joining the URTU, this led to a complaint by the T & G to the TUC about membership poaching, which in turn led to the URTU leaving the TUC.
The original race relation complaint revolved around some shop floor workers who claimed the the driver fleet accesors delibaretly marked them down because of the they’re colour, T & G fought there corner against Ford, making the white driver fleet accesors feel unrepresented, hence the move. The recruitment policy was described in court as “kith or kind”, allways someone son nephew or lad next door. Ford had to pay out, and so did URTU to get accepted back to TUC.
Maybe what we see today is end result of an in house training policy, that is recruiting anyone of the shop floor waitnig list, rather than experienced drivers from outside
See them quite a bit on the A34 and they are either going flat out or plodding along.

If i have ■■■■■ behind me doing that, i will drive upto the white line, if its a dual, i will drive along the right hand gutter thowing up all the debris in there path, they soon stop doing it!!
Always been true knights of the road have Fords drivers.
I remember sitting in fleet southbound around 10 years ago and at the time they used to do trailers changes in there. On that evening it was raining pretty hard and these two tools were doing handbrakes turns in there units across the front of the lorry park thinking they were Colin Mcrae.
My moto is usually live and let live but I’ll admit on that occasion I did complain to the site manager. Weird thing is he sighed and said “not again”.
Cheers

We used to do the Ford work for GPG and Ecko, because their drivers could only manage 2 x Southend on Sea to Dagenham or 2 x Dunstable to Dagenham in a shift and forget halewood
