Just an update on this thread, there a new map update on my tomtom trucker 60000
What’s included in the update? New speed limits on there yet?
Will let you know when I use it

No TomTom truck satnav that I’ve ever used has truck-specific speed limits on it. It just shows the regular 70/60/50 limits as applied to cars.

And about time too!
But does it automatically show the lower limits on single and dual carriageways when you go North of the border? Does it show the different limits for 7.5 tonners with/without a trailer?
I don’t know haven’t used the new update yet

Agreed, my 6000 tells me that I should be doing 40 on A roads that are 50! So even the latest TomTom maps aren’t completely up to date…
I also have a £40 NozaTech Sat Nav that does the job perfectly well now, but I just prefer the TomTom 6000
(Initially the NozaTech maps didn’t work with bridges, but thanks to Priest, I’ve got the newer maps that do…)
Cheers,
Updated my pro drive with the latest teleatlas maps and indeed the speed limits have not changed, still 50/40
Agreee that for whatever reasons teleatlas does not want me to make a turn though it was perfectly legal and had enouhg space. Cant remember where that was now, somewhere in london
I recently bought a cheapy sat-nav off ebay but unfortuneatly it got lost in the post, On reflection should i have paid a bit more?
Just read through this thread & I’m totally confused (Famous Grouse has something to do with it) I’ve got a 3 year old Snooper & I don’t even know how to update it, but it works, so what’s the problem ?
I know the speed limits have changed but I don’t totally rely on the satnav.
What’s Teleatlas, TRUCK v950.6533 & gb-P2000K-Blahdy Blahdy Blah ■■?
If i google correctly teleatlas is the company owned by tomtom that produces the actual maps and the other bit is the one of the map file set name
The speed limits are held in the actual map data so changing them would be a massive job and expensive so I can’t see it happening soon as there would have to be 3 lots of data for speed limits in the map data set
I’ve never updated a sat nav, which probably comes from a combination of being lazy and not owning a desktop computer, but as I never have the volume switched on speeding alerts don’t annoy me. I find it easier to pretend that I’m a pro and use the big round dial in the middle of the dash to judge my speed.

I agree entirely.
Nothing against sat navs, I have a basic one myself…but…
I mean do these guys have to be told to do every bloody thing ?
I know who is STEERING but… Who or what is actually DRIVING? (and/or making the decisions)
Have to admit I don’t carry any maps these days we usually do high street furniture deliveries so it’s essential to have an uptodate map on the idiot nav having said that I’ve not carried a map for at least 7 years
I don’t have a truck sat nav yet as I’m just starting out my class 1 driving career but I have a tom tom xl car one. Can I update the map anywhere for free ie not through tom tom they want £60.
