For those of you who used to work for Milestone

been bought out by staffline so expect a new contract through the door any day!

Yeah I got that e mail from them. They’re in for a shock though as XPO are taking a lot of us on full time. Good luck trying to get their “finders fee” out of them!

Is this going to be good or bad for staff line?

to me and just my opinion, they have fallen foul of the ‘lets buy a competitor’ to gain a contract or 3.

from my own experiences what normally happens is the bought out company normally in a very short time restarts as a different company with the same old golf club handshakes and gets a foot back in very quickly.

but they recently bought A4E for about 40million too I think so must have a few quid in backing from somewhere?

cant say it was a big name until recently mind.

Its one of those things i worked for Go New Recruitment when they changed to Staffline and nothing changed for me, the staff were the same and so was the money.

My agency was bought out by staff line a year or so ago. No change in my experience. Same work same people in office…

I agree, iirc Milestone took over Blue Arrows office staff locally in Sheffield & took the drivers with them, and BA fired up again a new “driving division”
Btw, Anyone got any background info on staffline regarding their preferences to PAYE, Ltd Co, umbrella schemes etc

looking at their adverts its all ltd only style they are running, whether they offer paye etc. I honestly don’t know.

my other though process is that companies who expand rapidly often go bump just as quick.

As I used to do a bit for MS primarily via Ltd Co, and due to circumstances I flipped it to PAYE. ATM I’m on the sidelines taking a sabbatical, but I’m interested in what happens in the future should I return to work.

It does seem that they bought MS for their contracts, as MS did / does have a big foot in the door with DHL. Which makes me wonder how tolerant DHL will be of a different management running the agency staff. As more often than not when anyone moves into a new office they try and stamp their personality somewhere.

totally agree pierre, they refinanced/extended current arrangements according to one report for their purchase of A4E.

I am sure Adecco went through a similar expansion/acquisition in the 90’s with the aim being a branch in every town, ended up streamlining believe which when they were one of the worlds biggest does make you wonder.

A4E was another story locally, one which I recently watched a documentary on TV about.
The amount of fiddling that went on was staggering, no wonder several people received jail time .
