The government should buy it and scrap the toll charge on it,let’s face it they’ve wasted billions on plenty of other things over the years at least they are getting something for their money instead of giving it out to every other country that they deem “in need”.

On this basis how much does M6 toll NOT being nationalised cost business every week ■■

No Brainer really.
In the right hands with the right pricing strategy it could be a gold mine. Unfortunately the idiots running it at the moment have no clue.
I’ll give em a pound for it and make money by the end of the third year. Starting with 6 months free use for everyone to get buggers used to it then a gentle pricing stratergy, auto tolls, tag system etc.
But I’m just a thick lorry driver with a ■■■■ addiction, what do I know.
The stretch it was designed to relieve has always been congested since and before I started the job.
I remember when it was built (about 18 yrs ago?) thinking it would solve it…it didn’t!.. as the volume of traffic required to achieve that did not use it.
(I have used it once, and that was a mistake as I was talking to the Mrs on the phone and went past the exit 
)
I remember thinking at the time how from an environmental point of view, in the days of the Greens, and Swampy and his mates, how they would ever sanction a paralell m.way built purely for commercial purposes. Needless to say they did, whether brown envelopes were part of it will never be known.
The govt should take it over and use it for the purpose we were all conned into thinking it was intended to be used for.
Traffic volume has increased 10 fold since I started this job, any help would be welcome.
Now the M6/M5 s/b roadworks are more or less finished its only at peak times, and Friday afternoons which is lemming megasuicide day on every road in the country, that its worth using at all.
I’d rather we bought it via our taxes…please please please stop saying the government should do this or that, they are just wasters idiots elected frittering OUR money away on themselves and other wasters both here and overseas…and after scrapping the HS2 vanity project used the rest of the HS2 money saved to upgrade real useful public service railways, so poor buggers in Northern and Western towns could get to their jobs as easily and cost effectively as those who travel to the carphole London do.

Seems a bit daft to me , especially when there is 1 anomoly in entire road network . if they want to put tolls on all roads then fine by me . but having 1 toll road in a terribly congested area smacks of political dogma and reluctance to admit mistake , rather than sudden wish to be careful with our money

Also, why are they going both directions?? If I’m going north they cause chaos that way and if I’m going south they do the same.
