These are the only pics that I can find from when I was at Goodways…
The first truck I had when I started wasHBJ807V,a Scania 111 in OOCL colours,but the second one was this one,ODX444W.
It actually has CTS on it as it was a truck that was on contract to Contship.
I had B925NGV from new in Janurary 1985.The Scania’s always suffered from rusty bumpers!
This was taken on the way down from Edinburgh to Felixstowe with some wide loads.There were five trucks in the convoy.
On the left of the pic is John Gooch,and on the right is Rudy Ward.The one in the middle is Rudy’s son.
C560LMW was a lovely motor and at that time the only MAN on the fleet.
Harry Canfield had it from new and when he left it passed to Danny Palmer.When he left I took it over.
It was a lovely truck to drive,13 speed Fuller,332hp,air suspension and a very roomy cab (after I removed the top bunk).
I took over E198KPV from Richard Collier as it was one of two trucks that had a green card insurance for International work.I was supposed to start running European with it,but the work never materialised.

Only managed to get half the truck in the pic,a couple of young ladies in maid’s outfits caught my eye instead
