One thing Mr Abramovich wont get…hopefully

lets not forget that jamie carragher was immense, the most underated defender in the uk, never even got a look in in the pfa awards.
isnt it great to be an underdog

back where we belong. especially if we win the final.

funny thing is ,we play arsenal on sunday and i bet we lose that one

The Ball is suposed to go over the line for it to be a ’ REAL’ goal! :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

Liverpool were lucky that a blind eastern european was the linesman :open_mouth: :unamused:

We played badly and Liverpool played well, but to be really truthful, I have it on ’ good authority ’ that Chelsea played badly on purpose, cuz they felt really guilty about Liverpool having failed to win the 4 games we’ve played against them this season! :open_mouth:

Looking on the bright side at least an English team are playing in the final, which is great…even if they do wear a Red Shirt! :unamused:

At least it’s not a Gooners or a Manure United Red Shirt

to be honest cliff, i thought chelsea were very quiet.
i mean that lampard and terry did not play to the standards they set themselves.
i think chelsea in general have a fantastic squad , and cole, lampard and terry have come on in leaps and bounds.
my only gripe with the squad would be in drogba. i think he was a big waste of money. admittedly he may get better, but i cannot see that. now chelsea with a 20 goal plus a season centre forward i would love to see.
i really would. i love my footie, dont care what team as long as its good football.
arsenal last year played so brill footy, best ive seen for a long while.

As well as Drogba I can’t say Kezman has been too impressive this season. Anyway, well done Liverpool, I never thought they could get to the final, can’t understand why they seem to be struggling in the league this season when they can play like that.

just got this via email.

remember the song “dry your eyes mate”

In one single moment your whole life can turn ‘round
I stand there for a minute starin’ straight into the ground
Russian money built Stamford Bridge , now it’s falling down
World feels like its caved in - proper sorry frown
Please let me show you how the ball was cleared away
How the whistle should have been blown to stop play
The wicked thing about money is you don’t know who to trust
That ******* linesman saying it passed the post
I look at him, he stares almost straight back at me
But his eyes glaze over like he’s lookin’ straight through me
Then my eyes must have closed for what seems an eternity
When they open there’s a goal on the scoreboard

Chorus
Dry your eyes mate
I know it’s hard to take - this semi-final’s been won
There’s plenty more fish in the sea
Dry your eyes mate
I know you want to make us see how much this pain hurts
But you’ve got to walk away now
It’s over

So then I move my hand up from down by my side
It’s shakin , my life is crashin’ before my eyes
Turn the palm of my hand up to face the skies
Look up at the clock -there’s still plenty of time
‘Cause I can’t imagine these Scousers takin whats mine
There’s things I can’t imagine doin’, things I can’t imagine seein’,
It was supposed to be easy , surely
Please, please I beg you please
Jose brings his hands up towards where Robben is rested
Makes the substition with the wisdom he’s blessed with
Robben peels away running, looks at me and then gestures
By pushin his hand away to my chest- upfield

Chorus
Dry your eyes mate
I know it’s hard to learn that Jose’s not the special one
There’s plenty more fish in the sea
Dry Your eyes mate
I know you want to make us see how much this pain hurts
You need to leave the field now
It’s over

And I’m just standin’ there, I can’t say a word
‘Cause everythin’s just gone
I’ve got nothin’
Absolutely nothin’

Tryin’ to get some consolation out of bare desperation
Jose spins some tale about the goal shouldn’t stand
He claims the best team lost - yeah? tell that to the fans!
The Kop are going wild , shaking and singing
Urging Riise to throw all of his clothes in
I’m not gonna ****** , just ****** leave it all now
Cause Jose said it’d be forever and that was his vow
And now Stamford bridge is gonna crash and fall down
This is well out of order ,well out of town
I pull away , Stevie’s arms round my waist
Gently pulls me back and looks at me straight
Turns around so he’s now got his back to my face
Cheers at the crowd , looks back and then walks away

Chorus
Dry your eyes mate
I know it’s hard to take- this semi-final’s been won
There’s plenty more fish in the sea
Dry your eyes mate
I know you want to make us see how much this pain hurts
You need to leave the field now
It’s over

I know in the past we’ve found it hard to say
Playin mind games and not tellin straight
But the more I watch the Kop sing and sway
I know I have to say
The Scousers have won today , the best team have won today

Very good Dave!   …Now where did I leave my Humble Pie

hey cliff,
i know it does not matter now, but ive been watching itv and sky sports who have been recreating the goal or lack of with digital technology.
itv reckons it was just over and sky reckons it was,nt.
either way it was close.
the best one this season though has to be the man ure one. did you see that.
the man ure keeper was lobbed from about fifty yards out. he caught it,then it went through his hands and into the goal by about 3 feet atleast. however quick as a flash he knocked it back out and the ref decided it was not a goal.
this was the best goal youu have ever seen especially against man ure, but it was not allowed…
ps. have you seen you got a new neighbour, ie)james.

Cliff Warby:
Very good Dave!   …Now where did I leave my Humble Pie

its a good job we did win, im no good at eating humble pie. and the sight of 40000 scousers crying (me included) does not do a lot for the old image.

He’s been down here for a few weeks now, we have’nt hooked up yet, as I work 7 days a week and he likes weekends to down a pint or two, he keeps inviting me over I reckon I’ll eventually go round and visit, but I can make very good money on weekends and right now, making money is more desirable than drinking beer :open_mouth:

He did try to lease his truck on to our company ( BTT ), but the company dragged it’s feet in hiring him, so he leased on to Dart Transport, but. at least he now has a proper truck ( Volvo ), and not one of those ’ Sterling ’ thingies

As for the Humble Pie, I’m none to good at eating it either, but when you have a mouth as big as mine :unamused: you have to eat it occaisionaly :unamused:

I gotta mention "Humble Pie " again, although this time I’m not talking about myself eating it.

I’m thinking of a certain Scotsman, a Scotsman with a very big gob, he was last seen in the company of an alleged football team known to wear ’ Red Shirts ’ who often frequent an insignificant and soon to be forgotten area of Manchester, an area known as Old Trafford. Hey! did I hear someone say boxes of Kleenex are suddenly in short supply around those parts

Manure Utd 1, Chelsea 3,

Poor Old Manure Utd

And what was it Sir Alex was saying earlier in the season? something about Chelsea being a flash in the pan, that we could’nt sustain our dominance, that we would fall apart by Christmas, that we would be lucky to finish in the top 5, that we did’nt have what it takes to stay ahead of the likes of Man U etc etc, well, well Mr bloody Ferguson, eat your words and eat Humble Pie, not only are Chelsea the Premiership Champs, we are now 20 points clear of Man U with only one game left to play, we have just beaten Man U’s 92 point record set back in 1993/94, by beating Man U at their home stadium which has given us the new record of 94 points, with the possibilty of adding 3 more against Newcastle, we also now have the record of having the least goals ever scored against a premiership side. Ha! Ha! Ha! We made Utd’s manager eat his words about our inability to run with the “big dogs”, then we pushed his face in the mud by beating his team 3 goals to 1 on their own turf ( giving Chelsea the double ) and just to add insult to injury, we ground his face even further into the mud by taking their 11 yr record with us …all the way back to South London

Love Football, Hate Man Utd :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp:

cliff,
i think liverpool hold a record for least number of goals concieved. im sure it is 16, but this record was from the division 1 days when teams played 42 games in the league.
but credit where credit is due.
there is a point to all of this though,
to be a great team you need a great goalkeeper.
liverpool had clemence,
man u had schmicheal
and now chelsea have cech.
the championship is won, but what about next year
is stevie g going to chelsea, i think not,
what about ashley cole, i dont know.
but thats why i love football. its better than a story ,a film or a book. it has all the suspense, the agony, the emotions, highs and lows. and it never ends, the plot just keeps getting better.

 Credit where credits due.Well done to Chelsea for a great performance this year, Looks like they may become the dominating force in UK footy for a couple of years like Man Utd have been for the last 10 years
Thinking back a few years to when Blackburn bought/won the league title with the help of Jack Flowers Millions but they only lasted a year. :stuck_out_tongue:
Heres looking forward to May 21st when Utd get their last chance for silverware this season.
When Chelsea can do the Champions League,Premiership and FA cup treble in the same season then I’ll acknowledge that they may be getting close to matching Utds greatness but until then Cliff,i’ll reserve judgement

(Tin 'at on ready for the flack coming from over the pond  )
ps.According to my A-Z of London,Chelsea is in WEST London not south :open_mouth: )

Cliff Warby:
Love Football, Hate Man Utd

That would make some one a brilliant signature…

When I say South London, I mean South of the River…Clever Cloggs!!!

Actually Chelsea are in South West London, it is QPR that are West London

As for the Tin 'at,… your in luck tonight Bryan, I fell off me soapbox and don’t fancy getting on it again for a while

Rotherham United!

Yes - I know we are effectively in League 1 next season, but we beat Stoke City at their place today, just like we did last year!
