Us truck drivers tend to have a slightly skewed slant on reality regarding what is & what isn’t healthy to eat.
Probably why so many of the oldskool’rs died prematurely of heart attacks & the ones that survive walk around with bellys almost as big as their gobs.
IMO, the microwave cooker was one of the worst inventions of the 20th century.
No one can understand what was inside the head of the bloke that wrote the rules that we must all abide by, but if you consider he probably knows that most trampers survive on Pot ‘ferkin’ Noodles, then he probably got it right when he restricted us to 11hrs of daily driving.
Tipper Tom:
You’re welcome. Let’s just say I don’t starve
Your fattest
I don’t know if I’m the fattest but It’s fair to say I don’t feel the cold

Anyone who has a 24 volt kettle can put a tin of all day breakfast or soup in there. Boil up from cold & hey presto you’ve got a hot breakfast or whatever. Learnt this from my Army days of putting cans of compo to cook in a boiling vessel. Also you can do hard boiled eggs in the same manner.
Reference microwaves. ■■■■■■■■
Reference cooking in a kettle. Does it not damage the element? I know in a BV the element is covered.
I suppose to add to me original list
Boil in the bag rations (surplus stores or they from camping shops are alright)
They tinned meals HP do Big Breakfast, Full Monty and the like are tasty and quick. Can be eaten cold too.
I have bottles of Worcestershire sauce Tabasco and various other sauces in the cab which I add to anything and everything.
I did experiment with paper plates and plastic cutlery to save on washing up but it was crap and I ended up eating more of the plastic cutlery than I used.
Pound land do a small washing up bowl which is perfect for taking away with you. Their range of mug shot pasta things are quiet tasty as well.
I night out 5-6 a week and usually end up catering breakfast dinner or tea out of the side locker and tbh I’m doing more and more myself after a case of the brown rain from a services
I’ve had to eat something
It is easy to take with good variety of homemade salads. Like Potato salad with Meatballs or with Sausages.
Wraps, wraps are great it’s exactly a sandwich but somehow tastier. Lettuce, peppers, onion, bit of grated cheese and treat myself to a bit of chicken in one every now and then
Pasta, chuck in a few frozen vegetables at the same time and mix in some pesto when it’s in it’s tub - best meal going, nice reheated but also ok cold
Blueberries!!!
Banana’s
I wouldn’t bother with oranges unless your going to prep them the night before. Spend more time getting it’s jacket off than you do eating it

4 bananas, 6 satsumas,a plum and an apple, and some chocolate bars, washed down with a litre of coffee sees me through my night shift.
Use the canteen at tesco stores to get a hot meal, couldn’t go from 11 a.m- 1/2 a.m without something hot to eat, shops I normally make myself what ever is in fridge, toast, crumpets, burgers etc
Mission wraps in the resealable bags last all week. Fill them with cold meat, cheese, coleslaw etc. with a drop of mustard or mayo.
Get some cooked chicken an a pack of uncle bens mexican rice for the micro and you’ve got passable fajitas.

A Scotch egg is all the food you need. For a 10-14 shift? going to need a big scotch egg
Scotch eggs are limited in size by the diameter of the average hens sphincter, so I’d be very wary of any sold that may be larger than your average egg.
Duck egg are large, but quails egg are nicer
