Am I the only person here who finds the food on Sea France boats to be overpriced disgusting muck? They even have the nerve to charge for a cup of coffee, which no other ferry company does, to my knowledge.
Also, is it my imagination or are Sea France showing all of the classic signs of a company about to go bust?
They’ve been going (or certainly looked like it) bust for years, food’s always been below par and the staff are usually indifferent.

Agreed, it’s always been disgusting IMO. To be fair I shipped in on the older P&O freighter the other week and not only were the staff belligerent and ignorant but the food was rank too. Still waiting on a reply from P&O on that one

I think that’s the company ethos Harry, they’ve always behaved like that from day 1

the only good thing about their food is that when you ask for a rare steak it comes rare not like P&O who think pink is bad because most drivers want there steaks incinerated and send them back if it’s only slightly pink
correct me if im wrong but you can no longer order a steak on SeaChance

Unfortunately I use s/f most weeks and often hear drivers ordering the steak( under cooked beef burger), I quite like the breakfast sausage and they seem to have replaced the dreadful scrambled egg with fried ones.
i agree, always though seafrance food was pretty dire, glad we only seem to use p&o
mind you, got the ferrry from ancona to igoumenitsa last week, on route to athens, the food and staff on there were not the greatest, the discount card came in handy though.

I have thought that for years too.
I only ever liked P&O breakfasts and would tolerate Sea France catering at other times, but it did go suddenly poor.
if the ferry nosebag is that bad,why dont you guys eat before you get on,that is time dependant though,a Routier meal is a long winded affair, that can not be rushed, some places can seat 500 drivers or more, then you can`t drive ,when they give the 5 litre jug of vino tinto, all in.
How many of us remember when the grub was free on the Brittany ferries routes, until the food was being stolen to make doggy bags and take-away pic nics.Blue steak on the freighters, and that ferry with the marriage suite for husband and wife co-drivers,that was a porta-cabin on the front deck, how that thing did not blow off in force 10 gales, was a miracle.Chained down,or what?
Best food IMO used to be on Sally Line out of Ramsgate,.
Smorgasbord to start…as many times as you wanted, then Steak cooked to your liking, lots of gateaus to finish.
Used to fill you up for days, and lots of cooked meats for sarnies

In the just in time world, you have to eat when you can, even in Europe now, although I did always try to make a resto if possible.
I have visions of all that fresh produce that the Spanish cafes made for the drivers menu, melons, loads and loads of salad, sun rippened large tomatoes, onions, garlic, cold and hot soups, fresh fish and meats cooked on a open grill next to your table.
Waiting staff, smartly dressed, with no attitude problems,as much vino as you can handle, and the cafe con leche,or a cafe cortado, they even put crispy clean white linen clothes on the table, with a full range of cutlery, not this side of the road caravans, that we have in the uk,standing in a layby with a greasy tea,and belly buster breakfast combo butty.
completly agree harry, utter garbage, i wont use nochance unless the only alternative is to be shot in dover, they are awful ferries
I was on it today and noticed that in the Routiers restaurant on board, they wanted £1.68 for a 400mm glass of Coca Cola, fizzy orange etc.
i thought you were finished with driving harry?
I was then I wasn’t but I finished up today so I am again…
