Follow up to the busmans holiday

Following up some info I had asked for re double manning, attestation etc.,heres a few pics from my recent trip to Italy. No longer a habitual offender for European work, thanks for your advice,in the previous thread. [viewtopic.php?f=3&t=98814](http://www.trucknetuk.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=98814) Up to the yard in Swords Dublin.(Coincidentally, the old Meadows freight yard where I used to work) Was bringing my nephew, who hadnt being out before,so,while hoping to get two Dutch/Belgian/handy Germans for each of us to go on,this wasn`t possible as any loads he had going together were haz loads, neither of us having the cards. So we doubled up to Italy.
Two drops around the Milan area.

Excellent read and very good pictures.

I watch all ned kellys videos and dixons seems a blinding as long as you like going home.

Enjoyed that mate , some cracking pics in there . I took some similar ones at the stop in Swiss at the services and the control , but not as good as yours . The pic dropping down the slope to Chiasso brings back a shudder , got a story to tell about the last time i was there … but not for here !! :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:

Can I ask , from a Hindrance and Suffering point of view, Has the driver who is cooking on top/ near the diesel tank possibly with a naked flame gas cooker got a death wish ?
And can he please never park near me !

Just my observation.

Lat time I went to Chiasso…I went hurtling straight through screaming NIENTE! :sunglasses:

Ever tried lighting diesel? ■■?

Some people are just born worriers :grin::grin:

Observation accepted.
Why would you be afraid of a naked flame near a diesel tank 3wheeler?

Great pics.Very good-and as long as the cook isn’t frying the sausages in diesel,he can park next to me,but only if he’s sharing.

Yes,not only sausages but rashers, pudding and steak, was had during the week!

Enjoyed that. And yes, as has been observed, you could pour diesel on a naked flame and it would only do one thing, put the flame out.

Good times! More of this sort of stuff please lads, great pics, thanks for posting them

I don’t reckon, I know. Try it yourself. Looks like the top of the cab alight on that truck, strange place for diesel tanks. If anything the diesel tanks don’t look to be burning. Diesel needs to be heated up to burn, hence no spark plugs in a diesel engine rather compression causing the ignition. Therefore if a fire is well alight and has heated the diesel then yes it will burn but a cooker atop a diesel tank is no risk, the vapour wont burn.

I can remember the days we used to light fires under the diesel tanks to stop the stuff from waxing. Don’t think cooking a few sausages is going to do any harm.

I think the fact it’s called compression ignition not spark ignition is the biggest clue
