A bit off topic, does anybody know decade by decade British sales figure for Foden, ERF Akky or where to find them ?

Ex Horace Kendrick?Brum reg I reckon but obviously not Kendrick body.
Putting my head on the chopping block here but from memory, would have thought O/D in it. Seem to think that sort of time Bardon didn,t run any of their own.I used go into quarry with cousin, co pilot for Emmersons, mid 60s. Loads of Selbys ,6 whl Dodges n lots of O/Ds mostly T Ks.
Good old days summed up in 1 photo
Hi Coomsey,
Walsall reg on that Foden, I think Selby’s Garage had some ex Kendrick motors as well, I’d image Kendricks would have had the best out of them!

Yes P I,m pretty sure Selbys had some ex Kendricks they,d have earned their corn by then. Good thing with used tippers almost certainly not double shifted n a fair bit of empty running ,so a bit of life left in em. Selbys still going so must have done summat right. Also, unusually, their yard smack in the middle of picturesque village where they started, Woodhouse Eaves
Ive just found a photo of my old motor on the internet but i can
t seem to post it on here. Anyone care to have a go , i found it by putting D355 GWX in Google . It`s a Foden fairground motor now but was a tractor unit when i had it.

I thought that mate but don’t know the reg, cant understand them putting it on an artic unless he had another collection, the ferry charges by length, and the drop is 200yds from the dock, ?.Les.
For anyone who likes the sound of 2 strokes, ‘The Deer Hunter’ is on ITV4 at 9.00pm tomorrow - you don’t have to watch the whole film, although it is a classic, it’s a while since I saw it, but the trucks appear fairly soon after the start IIRC.

Good film J W but if you spent long enough listening to 2 strokes you,d have subtitles on listening to tinnitus
Contra factual always iffy but had Foden survived n I had a mind to order a new 8whlr what spec would I be offered ? Tipper with coal sides Manual gearbox would be nice. Even dafter could I get S83 that were legal ? What engine/g box/ axles would I end up with. If we end up with a good un pop it in my stocking for chrissy
Why did Fodens persist with developing their two Stroke engine when they surely must have realised that it was never going to be a success, I recall in the early/mid 60’s their test artic used to come through Kendal in late morning, very morning, and go North up the A6 probably onto Shap Fell, not just sure where it turned around, probably Shap Granite Works then it returned thorough Kendal early afternoon on it’s way back to Sandbach. I’m not sure when these daily test runs ended but it sure was a noisy ■■■■■■■ ! Cheers Bewick.
