From a nice (by John Worker) illustrated brochure I noticed that Foden’s had an office in Germany.
Foden GmbH (like Ltd) was located in Munchen at the Mainzer Strasse 22, see scan

Out of a leaflet on dumptrucks another confirmation…but in the country of FAUN, KAELBLE,
KRUPP…I doubt if there was a genuine marketresearch for this range
You are probably right about the market research. For a start, all the pictures show RHD trucks - although most of them are off-road vehicles, so perhaps it doesn’t matter. Maybe Foden was only after the off-road market. As a matter of interest, I do know that Wobbe Reitsma is working on a new book about Foden export lorries so maybe all will be revealed! Robert
My opinion is that Foden was keen on (following ERF and SA) developments in Europe…possibly also with
an eye on Friderici and some others…as the location shows Foden ‘only’ had an office (two desks) in a
very residential neighbourhood of Munich. Foden was very popular in Holland and then I don’t only speak
of Haukes with their 8-leggers tippers…many more were operational over the water.
