Went to flookburgh vintage and steam show this afternoon.
Didnt even know it was on untll i looked on the net this morning and thought id go take a look around.
it’s a big place, they had loads of stalls,
motorcycles on display, steam engines, classic cars and trucks,
Helicopter rides, model trucks in the marquee 's.
The £10.00 enterance fee was well worth it.
This is just a small amount of the pictures I took.

A little of what else there was

Its not…
I cancelled the order last week before fully commiting to anything.

what made me change my mind was hidden things that i was not informed about untill they thought the order was a defenate conclusion
Which would have ended up costing me even more money!!!
Plus deep down i was never happy about the price!!!
I have gone for a Hino 700 I spoke to quite afew owner drivers about them
working out of a quarry 40 miles away from myself and they had nothing but praise for them…so i couldnt ignore that. PLUS it was over £15 grand cheaper and thats after id added some extras for it.
Went down to the local Hino dealer spent a while there and made the deal there and then and signed on the dotted line.
Its coming off the ferry from Ireland in the next few days then straight off for its body to be fabricated and fitted then to Nobilies for its paint.
(not keen on Hansons new colours but never mind lol)
So thats it, Scania no more lol.
Call it in-experiance on my part, But now happy with the choice and the price!

Are they white cab and white body now? I saw on 07 MAN run by Cawley Bros, Llanwrst the other day in those colours…I thought it must be waiting to be painted!
I liked the Hanson colours - blue cab, white body. Much smarter than Tarmac’s white/green/yellow mash up and Lafarge & Cemex’s dull all white job.
Also, Tipper-driver 01, if you don’t mind me asking what sort of ‘hidden costs’ were there that made you pull out of the deal? Was it solely a problem with Scania’s or was it a problem with the Hansons contract?

The new Hanson colours are white cab and gray body
I liked the other colours better.
Nope i dont mind you asking at all,
a couple of little things got me wondering about the Scania but the main thing
was that i found out i would have had to of collected the truck from them
which they kept from me, (even though id asked previously) and that would have cost alot to bring the truck back from other side of the country…
plus the spec had changed slightly during the course of the deal.
Everyone else i spoke to said delivery was included in there price,
that was from Daf, Hino, and Merc dealers…
So like i said i got plenty of information on the Hino from other owner drivers went to my local hino dealer and put the order in there and then.

Sounds like you’ve had a lucky escape with the Scania. Good luck with the Hino, let us know how you get on.
yep i will,
when i get it ill post some pictures up, only 5 weeks to go.
on top of all that as well which i forgot to mention…
Hino said they could match / beat scanias delivery time dispite not even having a cab and chassis ready unlike scania which had one there and then…
plus the service im getting from Hino is spot on, the sales man keeps in regular contact with me which is another plus.
pelican engineering in west yorkshire have some nice hinos in too, they look a beefy truck too. goodluck with it.
t &d did a test/review on the hino a while back,very good write up,looks a sturdy motor too,jap cars do u well,no reason why a wagon cant!
