floods

any driver see that picture in the sun last week which was the A361 in east lyng somerset,it showed that garage in a before and after picture,in the second it showed the water level just below the roof,if you look at the first picture and take a rough guess that the roof is about 10 feet high, then the water level must be about 8 to 9ft high, bxxxxy frightning knowing that water can reach that high from a normal river under flood, the A361 will cost thousands to repair when the waters subside, cos it will not survive under that water, you are probably looking at least 2 or 3 miles or more of resurfacing,no doubt us taxpayers will foot the bill

It’s quite shocking how high the water can rise.

With regards to the road, if the tax payer didn’t pay who would?

I don’t think it was a garage, if it was the green building that was the old craft centre had recently closed and the traders moved to langport :sunglasses: :sunglasses: :sunglasses:

Yes it’s an amazing photo.

However, that location floods every year. But this is the worst ever I think.

Also, the building in that picture was a business that makes things out of reeds and willow, etc. It is right next door to Gillards Transport. I can only imagine Gillards must be running their operations from somewhere else now. Anybody know where?

Who would you like to foot the bill?

it use to be cosmic but they had moved last year to Langport, I bet they are glad now :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

I’d be more bothered if it was a pub that got flooded.
This place gets it every year, but they do stay open until it tops out the waders.
A few years ago, it was flooded out once a month for 12 months, including the summer months!

Don’t call that flooded…

THIS is flooded:-

Is that Cameron, Clegg and Milliband on that sub? With Farage looking on.

Same thing happened in Cockermouth the other year, water managed to get out of the river, across to the high street and then 8 feet high. The sheer quantity of water needed for that is simply impossible to beleive, especially when you drive down there!

Inside the Kings (pub in picture) the power sockets are at head height and the wooden beams have etchings charting the heights of the various floods.
