Don’t need that. Safety first.
Only about 5 minutes from my house, that’s quite funny

Oh no no no no no!
with all of the pointless electronic crap fitted to modern vehicles, why was it possible to drive the truck with the hi-ab stuck out of the side - I think the truck manufacturer should share half of the blame.
I’ve forgotten to unplug the anderson lead many many years ago resulting in it breaking but leaving the jib out like that is unreal and could have taken someones head off ffs.

Indeed, you do have to wonder how that is even possible.
Surely the crane mechanism would require the jib to be retracted before the outriggers can be put in (and require the outriggers out before the crane can be used).
And surely there should be some kind of warning device in the cab, if not something to actually prevent it being moved.
Out trucks with side doors in the back have a loud buzzer if the steps are folded out, so surely they must be something to tell you a crane job is out.
And failing all potential warnings, the driver still didn’t see the crane, which would have been visible in the mirror in that position, before driving off!

After all that, people/muppets still find ways to override most safety features, proximity switches etc, they can be bent, lengthened, broken, adapted, taped down or up or any other crazy way to ‘Get the Job Done’
Any way
Hiab Lorry 1
Cars parked all over the place on an industrial estate-0
It’s only a crappy Skoda anyway.
Can just imagine the Laurel and Hardy music playing
Flipped car?
I can answer that one. I`ve looked at the photo and can confirm that yes, its a flipped car.

well can the company not just fit CCTV to deiseldog999’s cab to keep an eye on him and that’s that problem solved?
I must admit Frozen chap, there are some cracking hi-speed camera’s on the market.
The one needed to capture images on the Dog’s wagon, would make a bird’s flapping wings look like paint drying.

Believe it or not there is no legal requirement for anything like this.
That’s a PM crane, made by Italians whose H&S isn’t quite like ours.
I’ve been using truck cranes for over 25 years and hate all the modern technology put on them now, makes the job harder.
Having to have the leg all the way out before the crane will operate is stupid as you end up blocking roads sometimes for a one ton lift that can be done without the leg neither down or out.
It’s all down to experience and proper training (not a stupid, expensive 5 day training course).
My present crane is front mounted on a rigid like that one and has no safety devices whatsoever.
I can and sometimes do at certain drops, pick up the load, swing over the cab and then drive forwards into a building with the load suspended in front of the truck.
Having said all that, the driver of that truck must have been either, ■■■■■■■ dead or foreign to do that.
