I just can’t understand why truck drivers can’t see what is happening all around them. The British continental transport industry has completely disappeared, when cabotage restrictions are removed, the British domestic transport industry will go exactly the same way.
The sole purpose of mass immigration is to drive down wages for the working class, for the benefit of the land owner/ factory owner/ farmer/ banker class. This same class controls the mainstream media, so it’s no wonder they support it so vociferously, it’s just a shame that there are so many cabbages ready to fall for it, hook, line and sinker.

If Warberer, Betz and ND plus many many others can have Bulgarian, Romanian or whatever registered trucks with drivers from those countries endlessly occupied within western Europe, there is absolutely no difference to them just keeping them within one of those countries if allowed. British companies will have to follow suit to survive. I whole heartedly believe that an end of cabotage would see wholesale flagging out of British fleets to RO and BG with satellite offices set up (on paper at least) in those countries and drivers from those countries employed via those offices to work within Britain on BG and RO trucks at wages reflective of those countries.

The end result will be the same for the British driver in either event, mass unemployment. The end of cabotage is the end of the line for the British driver.

Stobarts had (have?) flagged out trucks. DHL have trucks in most of the EU states already, and they already do cross state work, and have done for a long time. As long as we have RDC’s requiring deliveries to stores, and manufacturers here delivering to UK business we’ll always have British drivers. Its just slowly dawning on people that most of what we consume is not produced here, hence the plethora of “foreign” trucks. Thats all. And if we could get eggs, bacon and bread cheaper from China by way of a container you mightn’t even see a Euro truck here !!!
Even if you got eggs and bacon in containers from china you’d probably need a euro truck to move it, unless they ship over a truck and driver with every box. I’ve had Chinese eggs and bacon. Mm. Worse was “bacon” in the ME. Reconstituted beef product. When I go into my local butcher here in UK I always ask “do you have any religiously correct reconstituted replica pork product”? I do miss it so.

So exactly when are the carbotage regulations being lifted then?
It was due to be done a year or so back, but got postponed due to the same concerns as people on here have mentioned of operators using East European workers and camping them out across Europe. I seem to recall the main opposition came from the Dutch, Swedish and French due to lobbying from their trade bodies and transport unions. No opposition reported from either our trade bodies or unions though no surprise.
Of course there are those in the eu who will try again, but with France opposing it, and with more opposition likely from other states it might be harder for it to be successful.
From recent events it seems there is growing disquiet from many European States about the mass influx of cheap migrant workers, at a grass roots level such as protests and the rise of parties opposing eu migrant workers in many countries. And polices such as the enforcement of the weekly rest period in a truck in France and Belgium and Germany insisting that all workers including those doing haulage within their country are subject to their minimum wage regardless of where the country who employ them is based.
UKIP are doing a great job in shaking up a very complacent political system, they’re actually having to listen to grass roots opinion on migration, instead of playing the racist card to silence opposition, but I worry about what they’d be like in government as they seem to be made up of old style right wing, pro business, anti worker rights, Tories.
I don’t believe they’ll stop migrant workers, as the moment their mates who run businesses go to them and complain they can’t get enough cheap labour they’ll find ways of allowing them in, regardless of their policies.

When the roads were in poor condition,to get to Lisbon from the ports in Northern France would take four days, or arriving late on the third day to tip on the fourth day.
Most nutters were one hitting it in a day and a half with no sleep, loo and coffee stops.
Customers asking me what took so long arriving on the fourth day, did you breakdown, they asked.
The one hitters, didnt last long, they burnt out, frying their nerves, they did a few trips then vanish.
I do and I also wish they would put what they are employed as!
its ok saying we have 171000 brain surgeons or paramedics or lawyers but I think and it is only my view but its wrong when we have 100000 warehouse people, 50000 car washers and 21000 scrap metal van drivers.

No surprise who really gains from that.While leaving the obvious question why would anyone who is ‘supposedly’ committed to an ethnic segregationist agenda have any interest in an obviously ethnic integrationist supporting football club.
