Wheel Nut:
Whats the tie up between George Siddall and B J Waters?
Loved the T Brady motor, proper blokes tool
Waters took over George Siddall a few years ago and use their garage and yard. Siddalls were a long established firm who at one time ran tippers, flats, powder tankers etc but towards the end they just had a few 4 wheelers and a 6 wheel D series Ford which I think was written off in a bad smash in Ashbourne market place when a laden artic ran away on the Buxton Hill and collided with the empty Ford which was ascending the hill. I am guessing that Waters wagon is signed as Siddalls for nostalgic (or tax!!) reasons.
Pete.
I seen a little 7.5 ton sleeper cabbed Cargo painted up the same, see it alot running round Essex/home counties, its got a little atlas crane behind the cab, as with most of the Waters fleet its well turned out. regards, chris
Hi Chris, I think that Cargo carts mainly for Pisani’s who have a marble cutting establishment on the A6 between Matlock and Belper, as you say they are all well turned out.
Not having a scanner I tried taking a photo of a photo, so forgive the quality . Just a few pic’s of some “baby” flatbeds I ran in a previous business !
some absolute stunning pictures here ,man tga ,i have a calender that is painted ,alot like your picture ,all the old motors ,its been painted on a sort of canvas paper ,was gonna give it to my lad ,but think ill put it away for safe keepin
As B J Waters and Siddalls were mentioned in this thread I thought this may be of interest;
Martin Waters trading as George Siddall (Transport) Ltd is applying to use Imperial Commercials (Kays of Mackworth) as an additional operating centre for ten vehicles and ten trailers.
