Flashin up other drivers

How come when Im driving an artic I get flashed in by other drivers on the motorway, but when I drive an 8 wheeler I dont? is it because some people consider 8 wheeler drivers to be insignificant? its the same driver, so where is the same courtesy?

No,no,nooooooo you have at all wrong!

When you have the artic the drivers arn’t flashing you in…they are flashing to say ‘FFS you’re not in an eight legger, remember the trailer!’…as you wipe their windscreen. :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh,and ow do.

do you need flashing in in a 8 wheeler?

I’m sure i’ve seen this somewhere before

nobody needs flashing in, as previously stated it is a courtesy.

I can only assume you haven’t overtaken me in an artic but you have in an 8 wheeler.

I hope this helps.

no it’s only truckers that do it
it’s because they do not understand the rules of the road
when they progress to being lorry drivers then they will know what to do
and uderstand why you do it
hope this helps

I never get flashed in, a -5inch gap is plenty

there was a thread recently about this, 8wheelers, and 7.5tonners as there was another thread about hallucinating ( i found it in the end Mr. Holic!)

you want to drive a 6 wheeler mate lol !!!

I’ve been doing nights recently and have been surprised at the amount of people that have flashed me in in my 3.5tonne transit pickup

After driving in the Uk and Benalux for over 20 years flashing in was the common, now ive been living and driving Trucks in Tenerife(Spain) for over 6 years ive found out if you flash your headlights they think… :exclamation: im here im commin through :open_mouth: so when a truck is indicating to come on the autopista ill give him a flash to say ok… but he brakes wtf then i brake flash again to say come on mate but then he stops before joining said autopista and were both down the gears :unamused: so now i drive like the rest of them, keep in the inside lane and well we ll see what happens :unamused:

^^ This is your answer as to why you don’t get flashed in as much, it isn’t really needed.

If you have indian takeaway frilly curtain liners, or a tribal tattoo (as otherwise seen above a slapper’s arse) on your passenger window then I aint flashing you in sir.

is it because some people consider 8 wheeler drivers to be insignificant?

Not insignificant, just knobs, basically.

Or maybe you should just know where your arse end is on an 8 wheeler. You can pretty much reach out your window and touch it :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s a lot further away on an artic, hence those with a sense of safety will let you know when you are clear with a safe gap.

It’s mostly a moot point anyway, because 90% of those overtaking pull in without leaving a safe gap, well before I would have flashed them across.

There is of course the less common opinion, that if you can’t get a regular job driving an artic, then you must have a small ■■■■■, and thus get mightily offended, when those with large penises don’t acknowledge you with a flash of their headlights.

Some of us working nights, are just a bit bored, so will flash our lights in tune with the music. Just let it roll.

The above post may contain a certain amount of sarcasm. If you drive an 8 wheeler, you may not have the intellect to know what sarcasm is. :stuck_out_tongue:

I shan’t take offence Wild Goose as I’m on a 6w and couldn’t give a toss if I get flashed in; As you say, I can almost undo the tailgate from the drivers seat anyway…Sometimes I’m let loose on an 8 normally an old nail

Flashing is only necessary if the speed of the other vehicle is close to your own and or the vehicle is quite long. Too much flashing goes on, does your head in a night, like being at a disco.

I do flash in if it’s needed.

Not this again… :unamused:

It’s all about good manners, not so many about these days. Dates back to when drivers felt they were all in it together, and helped each other.

Due to funding issues repeats are being used more frequently, they are cheaper than creating completely new posts, but this should improve in the near future when TruckNet becomes a pay to use site.

I hope this helps.
